Right: the Education Officer where I work has some DVDs spare which he is offering free to a good home. They are aimed at clubs that want to organise safe rides for their members; put together by LTNZ, ACC and various others- apparently very good. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet myself, but have heard good things about it.
Anyone? The idea is for as many people to see this as possible, especially folk that organise group rides on a regular basis: if that sounds like you, PM me- but not if you're just going to use it as a beer mat...
First come first served.

*bump*

Free with every one- a fabulous booklet insert!
Oh, and you don't have to be an 'official' club. So if you often organise group rides, even through KB, give me a yelp.

Don't throw em out jaz...

I'll provide a library service for them and become (grins evilly) the NZQA training resource for these rides.

Cheers

Hey, Paul- if you want a copy for real, 'tis yours.
I can either hold on to a copy until I see you or send it to you (for which I need your Proper Address).

You'll find more than one KBer in it.

I guess there will always be people who knock the attempts to produce safety stuff, but at least someone is trying. Face it, how many group rides get delayed as someone falls off? (don’t let’s turn this into a group ride thread etiquette there’s already a few of those).

I was sort of considering how it would work if we ripped them and put them on the web ? I can hold a ripped version here and open an ftp server when some one wants a copy. Legality might be an issue :nono:

So jaz, u know how to rip ? have you got the BW ? can you upload or.... ?

Oh, and P.S. where are u of to ? I seem to stuble over threads all the time reffering to u leaving some time soon but where to and why (I know i should do a search ay.... )

A good idea there, but I've found through experience, when you lend out a DVD on this site it doesn't come back. Maybe a better idea would be to keep a copy, and show it at group gatherings?

I seriously would be interested in viewing the DVD's.

Yeah, I checked that out in a 'nudge, nudge, wink wink you do want lots of people to see this, don't you?' sort of a way, but unfortunately it might land people (including me and the very nice man giving them to me) in a largeish pile of doo doo. If, however, it were to happen at some stage down the line in a way unconnected with this site and myself/others concerned (as it no doubt will) then I don't really see how they can hunt us down and drag us through the courts for Acts Of Extreme Villainy...

The aim of the DVD was to get as many people to view it, contact the chap (think it is listed in the booklet) & ask. I did ask if it was going to be available downloadable somewhere & the comment was it seemed like a good idea, but always best to ask in these matters.

I think the issue was not so much that they don't wamt people to see it; it's just that there are sponsors that presumably want to have their names/logos seen, and that there may be legal issues such as copyright if we openly rip it...

Well better not then. But I'd be keen to view a copy at one point or an other should one come to Auckland. But I'll chicken out on the job of costodian as i can't keep track of my own things

OK..

I have the DVD jaz and it's pretty bloody good actually... All common sense but a goodie never the less...

So....

I have access to all manner of projectors and large screens etc.

I propose (since it's winter) a KB movie night! We will watch this DVD (17mins fer christsake you can stand that) and then we can do other stuff...

We could use our place, find a bar willing to put up with this or I can bring AV stuff to someone elses place?

Whos keen?

The first part was done in Taupo where it pissed down apparently (haha), the 2nd part was done on old coast road Wainui & the weather was nice. You can see (& hear) my orange YZF in the passing section for about 2 seconds. Not bad for a day’s work. If you are supposed to have 15 seconds fame in your life I’m owed at least 13 more.

Arrived today, many thanks.

Can I make a copy for myself before I pass it on to the group here?

Um.

What the eye doesn't see, the heart doesn't grieve over. A nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse. Monkey see monkey do....
Excuse me. Anyone seen a marble? I seem to have mislaid mine...

Anyone know where I can get another copy of this?

The Moto Guzzi Club of the Netherlands is coming out for a tour of NZ in feb 2006 and I reckon this could be a cool thing to send to my contact over there...

Cheers
