the day didnt start well. after my crash at round 2 it was hard to get into my gear, i really didn't want to. but once i was on the dummy grid i wanted to hurry up and get on the track.
Qualifying
pretty rubbish. i had to wear my spare helmet which kept fogging up so i made sure i did one flying lap before coming in to sort it. went back out on the last lap but didn't bother completing it. i didn't get a recorded time even though i did a flying lap so started 23rd on the grid.
sorted the helmet out for the race with a bt of tape and some anti fog stuff.
Race 1
sitting on the start with 3 of the lights on i had the revs to where i used to have them for starts then just as the 5th light came on i remembered what paul told me about launching it so i dropped the revs to where they should be. got a great start got passed a few people before turn 1. held off jono for a couple of laps before be passed me and buggered off and i tried to keep up but couldn't. finished 9th in class with a best lap of 1.32.647.
Race 2
had another great start. was on my own for most of the race and started to get used to the bike moving around again. finished 9thand had a best lap of 1.31.016 which was on the last lap. laps 2-5 were all 1.31s which suprised me big time.
Race 3
Had another great start before getting into a good battle with josh walby. every lap i tried getting him through the infield and at dunlop. i could gert close but as soon as he hit the straight i couldnt keep up with him. finished 10th 1.000 seconds behind josh and got a best lap of 1.28.464. i was happy to have gotten back down to these times. they are still 2 seconds off what i have done but that is confidence.
i was very pleased not to be lapped by glen williams in any of the races. (he must of been thanking me for push starting his bike on friday).
i managed to destroy the back tire with canvas showing in a couple of spots and the grooves on the right hand side that got recut at round 1 have now disappeared. new rubber for round 4.
