Interesting GP race!!

1 Dani Pedrosa Repsol Honda Honda
2 Jorge Lorenzo Fiat Yamaha Yamaha
3 Casey Stoner Ducati Marlboro Ducati
4 Valentino Rossi Fiat Yamaha Yamaha
5 Andrea Dovizioso Repsol Honda Honda
6 Marco Simoncelli San Carlo Honda Gresini Honda
7 Nicky Hayden Ducati Marlboro Ducati
8 Ben Spies Tech 3 Yamaha Yamaha
9 Hector Barbera Paginas Amarillas Aspar Ducati
10 Marco Melandri San Carlo Honda Gresini Honda
11 Loris Capirossi Rizla Suzuki Suzuki
12 Alex De Angelis Interwetten Honda MotoGP Honda

A Crash a few laps in causing a red flag, De Puniet broken his left tib/fib, both Espargaro and Bautista hit is bike trying to avoid Randy and went down, Bautista suffered no injuries, Espargaro just looked a little sore.

Amazing riding from Pedrosa obviously, Rossi! Who would have thought he could come back to almost take a podium, if it wasnt for that aggressive passing manoeuvre by Stoner (which was pretty sweet)
And as much as I don't like him, Simoncelli rode amazingly well

Tony Elias was charging hard to hunt down Iannone and take first in moto2

Stoner sure pulled one over on Rossi .. Looked like Rossi was all set up to protect the more preferred passing point - the 2nd to last corner but Stoner took him on the last corner.
Looked pretty magic even for a non Stoner follower !!

Carnage. Easy to see how the Frog broke his leg! Ouch.

Roger Lee Hayden, the youngest of the three Hayden brothers, has been nominated to replace the injured Randy de Puniet in the LCR Honda team at the US Grand Prix.

Hayden is now set to join older brother Nicky who rides for Ducati at the Laguna Seca race this weekend.

LCR team boss Lucio Cecchinello moved quickly to secure a wild card replacement once he understood the extent of De Puniet's injuries.

Cecchinello spoke to Nicky Hayden at the Sachsenring an official announcement is yet to be made sources close to the deal say that Roger Lee will be the fourth American in the Laguna race.

He will join Ben Spies, Colin Edwards and brother Nicky. De Puniet suffered fractures to both the tibia and fibula of his lower left leg when he was struck by Mika Kallio's Ducati in a brutal four rider crash in Sunday's German GP at the Sachsenring.

Hayden's upgrade to MotoGP now comes in advance of his planned appearance in Moto2 aboard a Honda USA backed Moriwaki at the Indianapolis GP in August.

That team is to be managed by Texas legend Kevin Schwantz and it is anticipated that Schwantz will be a key advisor to Hayden in the LCR garage during the Laguna Seca weekend.

LCR's crew chief is the highly experienced Christophe Bourguignon who was the Kayaba suspension technician during Schwantz's winning days with the factory Suzuki 500cc team.

The presence of Bourguignon and Schwantz in the LCR garage will bring a huge level of grand prix experience to Hayden's wild card weekend.

Hayden raced as a wild card for Kawasaki in the US GP at Laguna Seca in 2007 and finished tenth.

You know, up until Rossi's crash when he actually broke a bone in his body, I didn't believe he was human...

But to recover so quickly, and get that result in a hard fought battle for the PODIUM, I still have my doubts that he is...

Speaking of Ducati...be interesting to see if Rossi has the balls to ride the Ducati through of of the worlds fastest/scariest corners at 240kph on the lock stops. Like this 'pussy' does...

He may well have balls like melons but I bet his butthole was clamped tighter than the cap on the Deepwater Horizon wellhead when the back wheel started coming around like that  Cool vid. What would you have given to have Rossi's birds eye view of the action?

Nah man...Stoner was doing that lap after lap...and you can see by his body and head position that it wasn't a problem. It wasn't like a slip grip slip etc. He set it up to go sideways well before it broke away.

Which race were you watching? Randy crashed by himself and landed in the middle of the track. Then Espargaro and Bautista hit randy and his bike both going over handlebars. Not sure which of them ran him over or maybe he broke it when he crashed?

True that, turn 3 at PI?

I remember watching that replay over and over on the tele. Twas a thing of beauty...

I guess it's just because (in relation to other GP riders) he's not only got balls like melons, he has a personality like one too.

I'm far from perfect (just ask my wife) and I know there's pressure to perform, but there's also relating to your fan base, or potential fan base.

Mr Stoner may not need lessons in riding, but some public relations tuition would do him some favours IMHO.

And, anything you can do, I can do better...

Yeah turn three. Fast and nasty as all fuck. Noice. I appreciate Stoner pisses people off with his attitude sometimes...but I don't really give a fuck what those guys are like after school. I watch road racing for the sheer skill of the guys. All the other shit is irrelevant to me.

Difference being...that's a slow turn that Rossi wicks it up out of. Quite different to slinging the thing sideways at 240kph mid corner. And it's also on the old thous which were a whole lot easier to slide with all of the torque they had. A lot of people seem to think that Rossi would kick arse if they banned the electronics. But I reckon Stoner would kick some serious ass. He is after all an ex flat track champion.

Good point Pete, you do have to give credit where credits due.

I'm never going to have the honour of saying I passed Rossi on the last corner in the last lap in Germany because he thought I was going to pass him on the second to last corner...even if he was injured.

It's funny...Rossi comes back from a broken leg and finishes 4th...and he's the man. Stoner misses the same amount of races (or near enough), comes back and wins the next 2 and he's a poof. Go figure. A broken leg for sure hurts...but it is only a straight bone...not like wasting your ankle or shoulder or foot etc...hands too. Put a rod in it and she'll be right. I personally think it's great how he's come back....but I hardly think it's earth shattering and or incredible.

It'll be interesting to see how long the Frog takes to come back, all though it sounds worse than Rossi's injury.

I guess too for a lot of people, if you can't physically see an injury, you don't actually have one (mental illness as an example) - doesn't mean to say it's any more or less painful...

THAT is a great clip ! - As the speights man says "makes you realize your place in the cosmos boy"

I freak if the rear comes round more than a couple of mm :shit:

That was a great battle between Stoner and Rossi though !

Maybe it should be a rule that if you win 9 world championships you get your leg broken ?

I spent 1 night in hospital in February and I'm still to scared to approach my usual snails pace - Good job I don't mind coming last !!

Crasherfromwayback you could try doing a 4hr Matial arts grading then fight 10 Black Belts at the end of it with a crack shin & 3 broken knuckles & then have to break 6 roof tiles with the same hand & then 8 tiles with the foot with the cracked shin !! . No thanks.

Seeing as you're the martial arts master...you should then know what total tough cunts anyone that races moto gp are. Riding one would be hard enough. Riding one broken is off the scale. And racing isn't about showing off. It's about wanting to get out there and ride a bike like you want to legally. Bit like fighting.

Yeah motorcycle sport is a bit like rugby etc where accepting injury as an integral part of the sport and coping with it is the deal.

You need to be a special type of person and both Ben Townley and Josh Coppins are Kiwis who are able to cope.
