Cool bikes those alloyframed 500s but any one who spends 6k on footpegs needs a punch in the head.

Every time that lapped me at Ardmore, my whole world went black, serious roost........

i would seriously debate the 'fastest bike' title, it has won nothing, and 450's smoke it,

serious peice of kit tho any way, i would love a service kawasaki 500,

Shame its an old shape the new ones look heaps better! They are never gonna get that sorta money and its not the fastest by a long shot. The CR500 in Whangarei with nos would wax it

Might be fast in Shane King's hands, but for most of us mortals, once you're past a certain amount of power, the more you add the slower you go.

Looks like someone's been reading one of those glossy sales brochures, a 25 year old 500 2 stroke will still wax any new 450, well in a straight line lol

I don't bother with brochures mate. I've simply road raced and moto-x raced both of them and can tell you first hand. Don't ya think if a 500 2 stroke was the weapon people will still be racing them? All they do is dig a trench due to excessive wheelspin. 450's hook up and fuck off.

You can make alot of power from one of those engines if done right, over 100hp. Ive seen better then that and for cheeper in the states had full factory everything built for a factory honda rider and it was about 15k NZ

Still a nice bike, but still get smoked by a 450 on raceday

Have you seen the twin CR500 engine that has been made, Makes 210hp

Yeah not much point having crazy power if you can't maximize it huh... I've seen this bike at Ardmore before and it is literally just putting around in low revs and still HAULS ASS! :shit: Haha my 250 gives me the shits at times... Hate to think the kinda trouble you could end up in on this bad boy

I'd like one of these http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=541356 in my dream garage.

There's something about those european 'crossers that makes them fun to ride.

Anybody else owned any interesting early bikes?

Looks like a good cross country weapon.

lol. looks like the owner is pulling himself. only so much power can be obtained with the pipe it has and the engine it has. theres not a lot of mods you can do to a 2 stroke... once the pipe, reeds and porting has been done - thats about it.

maybe i should sell my 250 with an ad like that, and say no test rides and make people sign a death disclaimer... might make my bike worth 3 times its value too!

MAKE SURE YOU TYPE THE AD IN ALL-CAPS, BECAUSE THAT MEANS YOUR BIKE IS FASTER, EH?

Engine spec: CONFIDENTIAL hahahah I wonder why. Maybe he's got Ironman's power source figured out! What else could it be? Must be that. Or perhaps it runs on concentrated global conspiracy theories and converts that via combination nuclear fusion/ fision and puppy dogs tails. Wonder if he has a patent yet?

maybe its time we all start asking questions on the auction

No questions, email only :(

There's no way I'd buy a bike without knowing at least the engine spec and having a test ride first.
