Im wondering is there is any young Auckland riders who want to join me riding in the weekends.
Normally we ride Sunday, except im the youngest (22) one in the group.
I want to meet and ride with some younger riders.
Be even cooler to find any females to ride with me! (as im a chikky too)
So message me if your keen to come out.
Normally we do rides between 100km-300kms round trip including a stop at the pub for lunch.
Hope to hear from a few of you :)

All very cool people, and easy to get along with.
We dont ride the same route every weekend, it changes depending on who is riding and where we all want to go.

Gucci, you should get along to NASS to meet some people who are also learning. Might be able to rustle up some sort of regular ride with them all.

Otherwise, post a new ride thread about 1 week out with the date, type of ride (learners only, no racing, or whatever) and route (use google maps with waypoints) and get people interested. Here's an example of a similar type of thing that I posted last summer http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/116966-AKL-250cc-group-ride-this-Saturday-(16-Jan)

Good luck, if you do it right you'll get plenty of attention (as if saying you're a 22-year-old female won't get you enough attention anyways :) )

well, If you want a slightly creepy predatory older male, then I'm the one.

Where do I put my sleeping bag?

And do you mind if I stare?....I tend to do that a fair amount of the time.

And as for wanting to ride with young riders, I'm sure there are plenty around. Personally, I absolutely LOVE riding with older riders and have made some wonderful friends among the more "senior" people of the rides (no offense folks, you know who you are). I'm a 26 year old female cruiser rider, and often then only cruiser. But its all good, and the advice and help that these much more experienced riders offer me is pretty priceless in my opinion. Good to take on board what you can to learn.

If you do fine a younger crew to hit the roads with (and yes, I agree its awesome riding with the gals too), just don't forgot to head out sometimes with the others - the "older ones". You will gain a lot from the experience every now and then.

Young gals on bikes - I'm always still impressed! :Punk:

Goodmorning Katiepie :sunny: I agree that experience counts for a lot. I am still learning the ropes myself, and have been lucky enough to do a lot of riding with someone who has ridden for years. I also hear that you don't exactly 'cruise' all the time :msn-wink:

LOL who has been telling fibs? Is it all the spring chickens that I ride with? - Must be another Katiepie on her phat cruiser, as I always turn up last after they have already had the first round of drinks. Its tradition for everyone to leave when i finally get there... :shifty: Yes thats it, cruisers are for cruising - none of this going fast business!

And I agree, always good to have a mix of levels of riders to hit the roads with. None of the crazy kids that I ride with act a day over 18 either! ;) Love ya all the better for it too!

Nope 'cos I'm the other side of 50 and my missus says the same thing. ( It's a gender issue apparently we never grow up  )

Ha! I did have a little insider information, but I'm not sure about a spring chicken - he is more like a bantam rooster! I don't have much choice when it comes to speed - my poor Thrux struggles to keep up with the big boys (and girls). And yes, age is totally irrelevant when it comes to letting loose on a bike :p

I could be keen for a ride in mid September if you don't mind bumping up the amount of K's a little bit. Thinking something a bit like this Google Maps Link (http://www.google.co.nz/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Orewa,+Auckland&daddr=Paihia+to:SH+12+to:Dargaville+to:-36.567012,174.47937+to:Orewa&hl=en&geocode=FRm_0f0dcpRpCimzbbbS3SMNbTHR-GsgY2DWGA%3BFVej5f0dLWtgCin74-0Q3roLbTF-5VAzUv09ng%3BFdhr4f0dLLRWCg%3BFcKf2_0dehJdCikDb8O3 DBIMbTE30HZAKpTlCg%3B%3BFRm_0f0dcpRpCimzbbbS3SMNbT HR-GsgY2DWGA&mra=dpe&mrcr=2&mrsp=4&sz=9&via=2,4&sll=-36.242058,174.537048&sspn=1.679087,2.463684&ie=UTF8&ll=-35.003003,173.597717&spn=1.705305,2.463684&z=9) or a two dayer to Cape Reinga. I, also am in a similar boat. 22 and hanging out with the oldies (double my age lol). I have not met many at all that are my age and do the whole cruising/touring thing.

i'm looking for 20 somethings to ride with our group. could be 30 somethings too. just riders!

we go all over the place, lunch and cafe and back home. the group i ride with has about 14-18 riders each week, but they're older and it would be nice to have some my own age to join us, all different abilities, cruisers and some sports bikes, but fun and safety is the name of the game.

The reason I ride with oldies? they're my mum and dad and friends. No they're not boring, they ride Harleys !

I just had to clear that up as I think a few are a little confused as to what my direction is...
And its not too cold! you just not have enough layers on. harden up and come out!!!
