A long-board rider who overtook a truck-and-trailer unit at up to 100km/h on the Bombay Hills expressway has been labelled stupid and idiotic by traffic police.

No. What happened was the truck was being a sensible safe truck driver and keeping his heavy vehicle slow on the corners at the top of the thing, then getting back up to normal speed once he reached the straight bit.

Id say the boarders would have been doing 70km/h max.

When I was a kid my mate lived across the road from the dairy factory and we made up these broomsticks with a metal hook on the end if you were quick you could ride beind the dairy tankers and hook onto their ladders for a tow down the road at 70 kmh. I still skate, and the buzz/feeling you get from doing downhill like those guys or skating some gnarly-as bowl / pool / ramp is right up there with going hard out on a good sportsbike.
