Tsk, Steven, Steven, Steven, you have it all tits up.

You saw on the site there is a Helmet check?
The deal is you bring your helmet to me and I tell you if it's ghey or not. (Not that there's anything wrong with that).

I can not however see the admission prices anywhere on said web site and I am but a mere exhibit.

Yep this weekend alright. I work with the Speedshow team and it's shaping up to be the best yet. We had the bikes in last year for the first time, and this year we're delighted to add Ducati from Australia and Kawasaki to the show. The full line of bikes is:
- Ducati
- Kawasaki
- Suzuki
- Honda
- Triumph
- Aprilia
- Victory
- BMW
- Moto Guzzi
- Royal Enfield
- Cotton Motorcycles
The bikes will be in the main hall along with the cars Peugeot, Nissan, HSV, etc. Have a look at the Speedshow website here:
http://www.speedshow.co.nz
There is also a map you can download to see where everyone is:
http://www.speedshow.co.nz/downloads/speedshow2010-public-display-map.jpg

I was at the showgrounds this afternoon working on the sites and it's starting to take shape. Tomorrow is pack in day so will be quite hectic with getting cars and bikes in to the main hall. It'll be fun and we're looking forward to it.

There is also some new models launching at the show, check the Speedshow Facebook page and read down the threads for more info.
Gates open at 9am Saturday - maybe see some of you guys there?

Yea - that and the grey Bently were the standout stockers.

I had a look yesterday, first thing I noticed when I got there was how many bikes there were parked outside! Being such good weather, was great to see loads of bikes parked up. Anyways, went in and had a look around... Ducati 1198 would be MINE if I had a spare $32K...!

Unfortunately, only had my cheap little phone's camera so couldn't really get any good pics.

Thought it was a pretty good show, all aspects of motorsport catered to.

Next year can we have something exciting there......

Mabey Yamaha could bring the MT-OS, Victory could bring the Kore, Jaguar XFR, ........a single Lamborghini would be nice.

Or even let the boys at NZStreetfighers setup a stand.

My highlight of the 2 hours I was there was finding out I fit the Nissan GTR quite well, and to see an XJ220 in the flesh.

Or am I asking too much to request something new....... I mean Brammo just released their Empulse, how about that?

25th July 2010, 15:10
how can a auto show only have 2 ferraris and nothing else slightly exciting.

if i wanted to view kia's and ford fiestas, i would just go on the public road.
there were cool bikes etc. but i found it to be lacking....how do you put it.... cars worth showing.
only good things in my opinion were the muscle cars. rest... meh..
wouldnt spend that $17 again...

bring back top gear live

I thought there were quite a few interesting 4 wheel vehicles - and I'm not interested in 4 wheeled vehicles. I didn't actually notice any Kias!

Some of the Hot Rods and Chevs were mint. That Merc made my day.

It was a pretty good show as far as the quality of business was concerned too. We sold an encouraging number of subscriptions - with thanks to those that did sign up.

yeah definitely, would have been more approriate if it was a rod show though. i loved that purple plymouth road runner. and the camaros. *Drools* ,
speed show...ehh i remember going to the auto shows few years back. there were enzos. lambos, and even a pagani zonda. thats the sorta thing we need :).

if someone brought a veyron into new zealand.... i would just die from all body senses maxing out

I really like the Vision. The fact that guys like Cave Wetta don't is part of the attraction to someone who would buy one - and why they are now selling pretty well.

Well - that and the fact that they are a very good large touring motorcycle.

We went and had a nosy on Sat morning. Was impressed at the number of stands and thought there was a good range. Avgas - there was a NZStreetfighters stand there - had lots of bling for sale too.

Must of been a lucky day for us as we got in for cheap (dodo at the gate gave us change when we gave her the exact amount!) and we also won a trip to the Goldcoast for 7 days! :Punk: Will be going again next year for sure!!!!!

Wow - nice work on the holiday.

Walked around the sheds with the handicam on a break from the stand.

Went along for a gander. Not bad. It was good to be able to see the bikes in the flesh, so to speak. Would have been better if all the manufacturers had been represented, but you cannot have them all. Loved the BMW S1000rr bike. $30,000. With all the fruit, I felt was a bloody great buy. The RSV4 was gorgeous also. And the 675 Trumpy. And 1198, 898 Ducati's.

Spoilt for choice.

Oh well, off to buy a winning lotto ticket.

How come no KORE!
Why have a show that is just a collection of Showrooms??????

Why have a show that is just a collection of Showrooms??????

There is only one Core and I got the impression that it travels with the boss, Mark Blackwell.

Why? Because the premise of all trade shows is to 'take the showroom to the people'. That is the gig. The budget for staging is then related to the potential audience/sales.

Sorry I didn't get to say "Hi" BD, the missus was getting real bored...and icecreams, hotdogs and chips only held her attention for so long.....

So didn't get photos of all the show bikes either... but got some montages going on:

Twas good to get there and have look at all the exhibits. Good to finally meet you to BD.

Liked the mini racing, brought back memories of Michale Caine's greatest line:

"You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off...!"

Meh - Michael Caine's best line is in 'Once Were Kings' where he replies when asked if Sean Connery (his fellow Seargenat Major) is 'Tough Enough'?

'Tuff Sah! Tuff Sah?! Only man I know who can belch and break wind sim-ul-taneoius-ly!'
