The size of the hole and where hes drilling it I don't see the problem.
No different to installing a drink tube.

Now if he were to ride 20k over his scheduled service period or rev his bike before it was warm I'd agree he is a knob

The Christmas before last, I saw a guy in Petaluma (it's in California, near San Francisco) with this huge-arse aluminum (well, it was Mrka, so I couldn't put aluminium) bracket riveted or screwed onto the side of the helmet. Boggled my mind for a bit - I couldn't work out if it was for a radar detector or a handycam. But it would've been interesting at speed, or if he fell off on the left...
