Hey guys,

Just wondering if there is anyone here who likes to play chess? Well how can you not want to play this beautiful game?

Maybe someone is keen for some weekly games or something... check out www.chess.com and go to live chess... makes it all an absolute breeze for anyone to find a game and get playing in seconds, whatever your level. It's a good easy way to get a rating and some stats if you're a little more serious.

Worth a try haha! It's really good fun. I'd be keen to play some KB folk. Add me as a friend if you want with the same user name- trademe900.

You guys need to go on live chess otherwise you won't show up as online.

Add each other as friends and then we will easily be able to challenge each other. Then either issue a challenge or look in the challenges box to accept.

Good site.

I used to be good at chess, when I was younger. Was the top player in my school and won the city champs. Haven't played much since.

A few years ago I thought I would teach my son to play. He was about 10 or 11 at the time. Took him 3 games to beat me, about 7 to beat me consistently.

So I created an account on FICS, hoping to build my skills back up. Got roundly beaten by even the lowest rated bots. Kinda lost interest in it at that point!

I will bookmark the site and might come back to it in a while - too much going on at the moment to take on anything new. Thanks.

Mate, accept my friend request and then it becomes a lot easier to play live. I challenged you ages ago, went off the website since. What you challenged me to is just standard turn based chess... not live. In other words you've got 24 hours to make a move or you lose. I usually play on live chess with 2 minute games.

I've only ever played against the computer here at home.

Can't quite get my head around playing against the clock like that.
