Some of you may remember I had trouble with a battery with the Suzuki a while ago when I stuffed it up when not in a fit state. Since then I've brought a new battery but the same symptoms are still there. Go for ride say 200k ,come back home leave bike for while then go out to garage a day or to later and its shat acid over the back end. Will take bike to shop when I get back to work, I'm presuming its the regulator so any idea of the damage money wise? Dont frighten me too much :shit:

There really should be a sticky entitled something like "Battery/charging system issues? DO THIS FIRST" containing this chart (which is available all over the net including somewhere on KB.....)
Anyway, use this chart to check your charging system (you will need a multimeter - the cheapest you can find at dicky smith or jaycar is fine) and you will have the answer to your problem.
Once you know if the problem lies with your battery or regulator/rectifier or wiring then people can make informed comments to help you.
FWIW i et you one squillion dollars it's the regulator/rectifier - batteries only boil if they are overcharged. Do you have indicator/brake/headlight bulbs dying too?
And I hope you are cleaning the acid off the bike - sulphuric acid will eat your bike! Neutralise it with some baking soda and water and rinse well.
