I saw a 1987 Yamaha SDR in Kapati listed on Trademe for $1300 earlier today, but just as I was typing an email to the seller the ad expired. If anyone knows the seller and it's still for sale, please contact me!

If anyone else has a road legal and running SDR200 for sale please contact me too! PM is probably the best method.

I know that there's one for sale in Auckland, but it's not road legal, and I'm after a street legal (WOF + Reg) bike only...

by the looks of it, he has withdrawn the auction rather than it expiring,
so chances are he's sold it :(

Bugger, was wondering if that was the case.
Still, if anyone knows of a small, mental twostroke for sale in the wellington region...

if you don't mind a bit of work then

the old rg's are pretty damn good, easier to work on than the rgv's as well

Would happily take that other SDR if it were road legal - unfortunately as I understand it it would be very difficult and expensive to make it so.

As for the RG, tempting as it is, it looks like a bit too much of a project for me to handel at the moment!

Still, I'll keep looking... there's always the odd RG150 on trademe as well...

it costs about $400 to get certified and get rego,
eg the cert cost $90 and includes the wof component,
so really re-registering a bike isn't that hard or expensive as people make out,

Does the fact that it's not VINed make a difference though? I was under the impression that that would require an additional inspection. I've PM'd the guy, if I could get it (road legal) for less than maybe 1600 I'm totally keen.

Edit: It also looks like it needs a new chain (+sprockets), headlight assembly, indicators....

it doesnt matter if its been vinned or not,
they put a vin plate on if it doesn't already have one,
i picked up a round headlight off trade me for $20 and a full set of indi's for $30,
as for a new chain, you could get one out of the uk for under $100
but you may be able to clean that one up to keep you going untill you can afford a new one,
it depends on how much you are willing to do,
if you are willing then a cheap bike is easy, :D
