There may be some ACC gurus on here by now..if so I have a hypothetical scenario:
Pete signs standard agreement with ACC that they can access information relating to the claim from other parties.
ACC are then arses. So Pete goes private.
Can Pete instruct private practioner to NOT hand over personal information, or does the contract with ACC have over-riding powers?

I am far from a Professional on this subject BUT
If PETE has SIGNED A Contract, it IS A CONTRACT!

Two different contracts, one with ACC and one with his private provider. I would expect his 'private' provider is exactly that and has no authority to disclose anything without his explicit consent.

If he is claiming ACC, the ACC Contract over rides the private provider bit, ie, by signing the ACC Contract, the Party has given away his writes to Privacy
The Party, can request a complete copy of all transactions by ACC though, to find out who where when they spoke to other parties though about what, and ACC MUST provide it!
