Dax was just doing his job as he found a potential criminal offence. I mean come on you would need to be a stoner to own a schnauzer, let alone call it Max.

Police dog back after suspension

A police dog in the central Idaho resort town of Sun Valley is back on duty after serving a "suspension" for an unprovoked attack on a small schnauzer.

Sun Valley Police Chief Cameron Daggett says the 5-year-old German shepherd named Dax took a few weeks off the job after the incident. The dog will receive more training to prevent a reoccurrence of what Daggett says was an unfortunate situation.

Dax is a four-year veteran of the force. He is trained to find illegal drugs, missing people, and evidence at crime scenes.

On June 26, authorities say Dax attacked a schnauzer named Max. Max's owner says the city is paying the US$600 (NZ$825) veterinarian bill.

I know people that own them and love them to bits! Don't all have to own a big tough dog to show everyone how tough you are!

Downright dispicable behaviour!

Police only paid the vet bill for the schnauzer, no other compensation, typical police corruption.

Was the schnauzer stoned?

I hope that's meant to be sarcastic.. what else should the police pay, the traumatic event for that schnauzer? psycological injury.. give me a break.

the dude should be happy the vet bill was paid for..

Schnauzers are bloody cool dogs... I happen to know a miniature, a standard AND a giant one! Believe me the giant ones are freaking awesome. Super powerful dogs! The miniature ones have just as much spirit as the big ones and they are VERY protective of their 'pack'.

Suspending the police dog was absolutely the right thing to do as they are trained to ignore anything except 'the job'. Attacking that Schnauzer showed that the police dog was distracted which is a lack of discipline that could be potentially life threatening to itself AND its handler.

I had a schnauzer and it was the coolest dog I've had ( out of german shepherd, border collie, dachsund, yorkie bull terrior and various mongrels) but other dogs hated it.

Any time we went near big dogs like a shepherd or particularly labradors you could guarantee a stoush.

Walks were always interesting.

Made me smile to read that... one of my mates has a miniature Schnauzer (Pipi) and Pipi absolutely despises bouncy yappy dogs so gets on really well with my Rotti. I reckon its cos Shar feels the same about yappy dogs ( except that she wants to do them some GBH!). They are both so aloof towards other dogs, they sense the same attitude in each other and consequently they don't feel threatened by each other.

BTW Schnauzers are known to be totally into their human pack and not particularly interested in playing with other dogs, although there is always the exception...

I prefer not to waste it, certainly not into a tissue...

If I personally owned a dog I'd opt for intelligence and cunning over tough. Anyone can portray an image of tough. Not everyone can carry off intelligence or cunning!!

Are you afraid to use the word masturbation or is 'jerk' the depth of your literacy knowledge?

She is a cool looking dog almost identical to my flatmates hybrid (read small) American Bull Dog.

That's odd then. Because it seemed to me you were taking the piss out of anyone that'd choose to own a Schnauzer...while a big tough police dog is cool. I also think you'll find Schnauzers are quite intelligent...even if not quite as tough as you'd like.

As far as the use of the word masturbation goes...not afraid to use it. It just takes me longer to type. Not all of us have complete typist skills 101 under our belt.

I'll keep it simple. You've made a number of assumptions. Without spelling it out we know what happens with with them...

The post was a humorous take on an incident. Based off your responses (fact, rather than assumption) to this thread, you clearly lack a sense of humour.

Ummmm...when you make assumptions, to try and look cool / and or tough, you end up with a stutter?

So you start a thread. You think it's cool/funny to take the piss out of other peoples choices. Try to be funny. Get pulled up on it. Get bitchy and go for the 'intelligence' angle. Then you talk about a lack of depth in vocabulary.

Odd when this was your reply to my original post...

"Fuck let me go get a box of tissues"

I think you'll need more than a box of them, from what I've seen of your posts.

Hmmm, just had a thought!

Teach your small dog to attack on a non obvious command, then wash it a drug loaded lotion and take it through customs!

When the drug dog gets all excited command your dog (in-obtrusively) to attack!

When the mealy is over and calm prevails, sue the customs for damages to you and to your dog!

You would have to move about a bit to avoid being rumbled though!

Hmmmm, best just have another puff and refine my big plan a little!

A little tip - quit while you think you are ahead. There was no humour - other than laughing at you that is.

Ya think????

Don't get me started! I could rant for hours about dickhead owners who let their precious Fido/Fifi run around and do whatever the hell they like just because they happen to be in an 'off-leash' area...but thats another thread LOL.

Just wanna point out that if you think Schnauzers aren't 'tough' (and by tough I mean willing to do what it takes to protect its pack) then you underestimate the breed. Sure the miniature version may be limited by its size (still feisty though!) but the standard is quite capable of defending itself and its pack and the giant Schnauzer? Like I said before...super powerful dogs and attitude to match.

A friend of mine had a breeding pair of giants, the male was in a car in the supermarket carpark waiting for the return of his 'mistress' ...as she approached the car she got jumped by a mugger and next thing that happens is the Schnauzer came smashing through the windscreen and attacked the mugger.
No charges were laid against the dog...

Nah... they're not tough...

I guess I should say that my puppy is not a masturbation aid & i like Schnauzers & Alsatians. Despite appearances she is classified as a marshmallow terrier & as you say has a wonderful sweet attitude & fun personality. I wonder if the Schnauzer did the doggy equivalent of flicking the bird?

Isn't schnauzer so much fun to say...... Say it with me now..... schnauzer. LOL. But seriously I have two dogs, a doberman and a ridgeback cross and the amount of times I've had either one on a lead in the park and I've copped atitude when some retard with their poodle, Bischon or other fluff mop off its lead comes bouncing up to my dog and my dog growls (and wants to play but I guess kinda looks menacing) is un freakin believable.

God I sooooooooo know what you're saying!
Up until a year ago I also had 2 dogs, a Ridgeback/Bull Mastif X and a Rotti X. Both of my bitches have been extremely well trained and would never approach another dog unless given the ok to do so by me AND the other owner yet I was constantly fending off idiot precious pedigree pooches who were running around like mad acts cos "its an off-leash area".

When I saw one of these out-of-control dogs coming my way I would always put Shar on the lead and walk quickly in the opposite direction leaving Dyna as the decoy. Shar is the rotti and she has ZERO tolerance for unknown dogs getting in her face!

Why is it that some dog owners think that every dog wants to play with/be badgered by their fido/fifi??? When the other dog owner is putting their dog on a lead and walking away that surely sends a clear message???

Yeah I know this is meandering off the original topic somewhat but what Insanity_rules said is something I happen to relate to strongly!

We have two dogs, love us to bits but when it comes to other dogs..... Used to hate trying to walk them on a leash (in an area where the dogs are only allowed to be on one) and having some dildo let their dog bounce on over, when you ask them to come get their dog they start with the old "oh but they only want to play." Yeah well thats all fine and dandy but isn't it obvious that my dog wants to rip your dogs face off?
That said my fault for having dogs that don't want to be sociable.

Without being able to read any detailed article, other than what was in the OP, what set it off? The mini schnauser not realising it is a snack size bite to the shepherd and wanting to take it on by having a go? Or did the shepherd just feel hungry....? Big difference. Dog defending itself, or dog being an arse...? "Unprovoked" they say....

Kinda relates to above. Shit stirring schnauser a temperment in the breed perhaps? But hey, they are cool dogs with a top attitude. A bit like my foxie.... Thinks he's a big dog and pack leader, top cat chaser.... until he gets his arse kicked by everything, including the cat....

Samoyed are the same with the poor social integration thingo. Spitz dogs are neurologically diverse, that is compared to NT or Neurotypical. Dont ya like it neurotypical.

Schnauzers are neuro diverse. In other words, their social norms aggravate mainstream dog culture.

Fuck those nerdy German mutts. (not the blue guy)

This is probably a legal precedent for aspergers dogs rights. Appalling.:gob:
