My street is normally pretty quiet, but for the last hour or so I've seen a dramatic increase in traffic, including buses. I took a quick look around the corner and down to Barbadoes street I see armed police, police cars everywhere, armed offenders unit moving in, residents within the cordon being told to return to their houses. Local dairy owner reckons it was a gunman holed up down the street, who knows. But I bet after the last shooting they are taking no chances.

Confirmed now that someone with a gun has been out and about and made it back to their house, where multiple units are parked directly outside of. Watched an armed officer trying to explain to some woman in her car that she was not allowed past the cordon. She got upset and just parked in the middle of the intersection, blocking other traffic being diverted. He had to order her to move her car. Some people eh.

Bad timing; I just got back from school and turned the scanner on now. It's all quiet from what I can hear.

Yeah I just had a look down the street and the cordon has been lifted so it's all over rover. Might catch something about it on the news tonight.

Funny that. I had just parked up at work this morning in Dunedin and two cop cars go past full of the AOS. Then another couple of cars. Then the paddy wagon followed by an ambulance. Then more marked cars followed by a mufti or two. Over ten vehicles going somewhere but in no hurry. Either Chch Comms got the wrong city, or they were off to a raid somewhere. Nothing on the news though, so perhaps it was just the donuts on special at the Mornington bakery.
