Hey there dudes and dudess's
Am going to try to get back over for the March Hare Rally next year, probably only going to be a 2 weeks trip as competing in the World Police and Fire Games in New York in August 2011, but going to try really hard. Shall be dooing Lond Jump, high Jump, Javelin, Time Trial Cycle, Arm Wrestling when I am over there, have to defend my word title in the Arm Wrestling (look it up on the results if you dont believe me), did it in Australia in 2007, couldnt get to the games in 2009 as was coming back to UK.......
Threw the javelin at the National Police Athletics Champs in Edinburgh a couple of weeks agao and won it!!!!! was made up eh, as haven't picked a javelin up for 3 years or trained for it, so got a biggish throw out in the comp and won it.
Joined the kayak club in Worcester as well and have really stepped up the training, which is hard when its summer and rally season over here..
Talking of which have made loads of mates at the rallies this year, so thats been great, and the rallies are huge here, normally 2 bands at least.
When I do get back to NZ< look out for the ALL NEW GARSTONIAN RALLY......whatever year that will be in!!!!#
Think fond thoughts of you guys so often, you never far away from Woodybee's heart specially at rallies when I wish you were at, hallucinate that you dudes are there sometimes and look out for you, normally happens when I am pissed that though....
Hope this finds you all well, and would be fantastic to get back and see you all when I do get back fro a break.....going to go to Christchurch after the march Hare for a couple of days, so will firm up the dates and let you know, perhaps one of you CC Dudes could hold a mother of a party whilst i am back......?
Hugs and thoughts your way

I am a March Hare virgin, so am very interested.
Been to a few rallies lately and have heard lots of talk about the cops being just as annoying this year .
Have also heard that clubs got some money together and have bought 5 breath testers to have on site at different rallies, so you can check before heading out on the road :woohoo:.
Also heard that they are going to be checking WOF and rego when breath testing :shit:.
I told you that I had heard alot!!!!

Isnt it interesting that they choose to test at a motorcycle event such as the Hare but a recent car event in Rangiora the powers that be chose not to test the folks leaving in the morning after an over night camp not dissimilar to a M/C rally.
One of my informants had the audacity to inform me that had they been tested they would have lost their license, but then proceed to rant about how dangerous us motorcyclists are and how we should be given lower tolerances
I am all for it if they have the numbers of staff, and are check legality of the vehicles to be on the road, lets hope its not like the fiasco it was last year where we waited until about 11:00 to leave and there was still a rather long queue

Well, it seems that due to circumstaces beyond our control we will not be attending this weekend, probably not so good to bugger off and leave the kids to it for the weekend just at them moment.
So those that are still going, have a drink for me.
And for those that are not.......
As the plan was to celebrate mrs neels birthday on saturday night at the rally, it seems only right to continue with that plan a bit closer to home. So anyone who is staying in chch for the weekend is welcome for a quiet drink or two on saturday, if you feel the need bring the bike and/or pitch the tent and stay the night.
If you're keen pm me and I'll pass on the details as they come to hand, if you're in contact with any possibly interested parties that are without internet please pass the invite onto them.

no bogs, as you go through the gate head straight, to the left by some small open sheds, and over flow to the right, all before the inner fence.

I hope said boy-racer appreciates how 'nice' Kiwi cops are now eh!
I've heard that the scum of the earth (looters) don't want to be left alone in the back of a car with an Aussie cop:bash:

Ok, strike you off the 'cool' list then :bleh:Well it was certainly "cool" alright! The sight of all the new snow on the mountains on way home explained why it was so fecking cold on Saturday night. Friday night was a good one though and the rain didn't arrive until around 1pm on Sat. Fine and blue for packing up this morning. The rozzers did their party trick again of stopping everyone leaving the site for a breath check. This time setup on a straight bit of road 1/2 a km or so towards town.
I took bugger all photo's this time around, in fact I only took one photo, I'm sure you'll recognise the suspect in her usual pose ...

the Ozzy coppers are harsh, make our lot look like sooks... they stand straight and take NO shit LOL, one pulled a boy racer up suspected him of drinking.. no nambe pambe rights read, by the scruff of the neck he was biffed into the car at the horror of the female NZ copper that was with him.
:woohoo: :wari:  they don't know that PC has two meanings over here
1. Police Constable
2. that other one they don't need to learn

That was the wettest rally I've ever been to. Fortunately the Harley guys didnt park in all the stables so I was able to set the tent up in the dry. Anyone know what the attendance was?

The Timaru Herald listed attendance as being only 2020. Despite the rain it was still a chance to catch up, drink and enjoy a few laughs. And enjoy a great ride home a little chilled but without the rain :woohoo:

Ended up heading away, and had a great trip, esp seeing the fresh snow on the hills back through Omarama and Tekapo, winter is on its way. Shame about all the rain, but makes for memories, wet pants, wet sox, wet hat, wet bag, wet tent, wet human both in and out.
Pictures.

You would be right about that Mrs Shrek. The Route 72 had some drizzle, the Long drop put on fantastic weather, the commute to and from Woodstock was wet but great weather on the Saturday. The weather last weekend was a bench mark in rain for me. Glad I went though, The last March Hare I attended was in '87

weather was poos. we rode in at 4pm Sat and collected our badges etc, walked around the rally and headed out to a warm motel in Oamaru. It was only a stop over in a ride that took in Mt Cook, Qtown, West Coast etc so it didnt matter.
