I'm after some pants (preferably leather) but everywhere ive looked so far all they sell is black, or black with a small section of some other color.

I've got nothing against black (lol) but i want gear that is more visible, and we all know what black gear does on hot/sunny days.

can anyone recommend anything? im starting to think i might have to extend my search to auckland or wellys :2thumbsup

Us our Estremo pattern and I reckon keep it black on the lower legs (grease dirt etc) and we can change the top panels for white and or grey.
would look cool.

Motoretail have a 'bit' on non-black Rev'it gear.

Saw a smattering of non-black in Oz bike shops recently (BikeBiz) but mostly for the 'ladies'.

Otherwise highviz vest and reflective tape on yer helment and beware 'Steal a Roadcone Day' cos ye will look like one. :shit:

It gets cooled by the air passing over it as you ride along.

You know what Henry Ford said doncha? "You can have any colour you like as long as it's black..."

agree - why are we so hung up on black when our bikes don't leak oil anymore! who cares what you look like - if you do get a life and check yer ego. be seen not cool - though both is best!

That's only a problem when you're on a ride where everyone wants to stand around all day talking shite & drinking latte's. Oh, and when you go to the track and can't be arsed taking a bag with some shorts & jandals in it.

true, but my bike doesn't just sit in the shed all week waiting for sunday afternoon. i leave the car/van at home whenever i get the chance. so "it gets cooled by the air passing over it" doesn't always apply

There is a place in K-Road that custom makes leathers for motorcyclists. Prices are very resonable - full range of colours as well - the womans name is Kerry and she's being doing this for years and years - very well respected. She does the leather work for the NZ Police motorcycle unit as well. I paid about $1600 for a two piece full set that fitted me like a glove (about 2 years ago so may cost a little more now) Cheaper than what I could find in store and absolute perfect fit being it was made to measure (she did this over one weekend.......) I can't remember the name of her business of the top of my head but hopefully some biker in Auckland will know who it is - if not ring Motomail in Auckland (thats how I got her contact details)

Depending on the bike you ride, remember you are exposed to almost as much grub as the bike or a cage, and look how dirty they get!

In my experience, once the lighter coloured sections of cordura fabric get grubby, no amount of scrubbing or soaking will get it off using recommended washing liquids.

Be interesting to see how long a girly baby pink cordura jacket stays clean looking.
