Im gonna take my bike for a skid at Meremere.
They have said that I can run my race bike provided it passes tech inspection, will be good practice for race starts!
Just roll up at 10am and lets race! Usually 600 smoke me on starts so bring your bike down and give it a shot

Done heaps of drag racing on my LC over the years, It definatly helps with starts,
Just make sure you have a chain gaurd fitted, that is one rule for drag bikes that is different to road racing
Any idea of what E.T and MPH your BMW should run?
Low 10's, 135MPH ish should be easy enough to do

Oooh I better put it back on!
I would imagine 10.2ish something in the 9s would be nice....

I've done a 10.19 on a K1 GSXR thou on stock gearing and 30psi. Quietly confident that lower gearing, 20 psi with a good burnout, would see 10.10 or lower. Strapping the front and lowering the rear it would piss nines all day.
That being said, I'd say a high 9's pretty acheivable for you Chop. Let us know how ya go bro.
Another point worth mentioning, is if it's Winter Drag wars, I'm not sure but I think they may run a DYO Elimination competition. If that's the case and you lose or break out, you're on the trailer.

I have new zealand 125 record at 12 seconds
and have done 10.7 on my zx6 on the talllest gearing I had for top speed so 9s should be acheivable

A timed standing quarter is a completely different ball game to drags mate.

Oh yes I know that but the track distance etc was the same so was giving Chop a rough idea of what a 600 can do to be able to give him some ideas on what the Beemer will do

Another guy that might be there is Barry Sproul, he and Alan where really helpful the one time I gave it a whirl on the hornet (I have the distinction of being the first bike eliminated from the 2007 Nationals at Masterton :) - I drew Alan for the first race :( )
The only advice I am qualified to offer is - the track will almost certainly be MUCH more slippery than you would expect - and its not as easy as it looks but it is great fun !!
Heres Alan giving me the learn....
