Who has more than one motorcycle. I have been toying with the idea today of getting a second bike, namely a cruiser.
I currently have a K7 Speed Triple, but I am thinking of a big cruiser with luggage for touring to compliment it.
What's the best combination of choice.

ya for got to add The Old
why not look at a sports-tourer

any bike that you are comfortable on long distances (or short distant if ya live in say USA )
depends on whether you want to carry the kitchen sink or not. there are plenty luggage options out there
it still baffles me what Rider In Black can get into a pack:shutup:

I have a ZZR250 which has been out of commission for WEEKS (going on months) - mostly trying to get these bloody aftermarket fairings on, but now it also needs new stearing head bearings, front tyre, etc so it's at the shop (as opposed to in pieces in the garage).

Partly out of withdrawl and partly because I've always wanted to, I've gone and bought a small twosmoke (Kawasaki KR150) - Loving it! It's absolutely mental, although not as mental as I was hoping (was trying to track down a SDR200...) - totally worth it though. I don't intend to sell my 250 once it's running again, it's much better for longer distance and motorway riding.

Got a mid sized adventure bike (DR650) and trail bike (CRF230).
Would have another big bike, maybe a sport tourer (miss my old CBR1000F from time to time) but can't afford to reg and insure a second road going machine any more.

Working on downsizing my collection atm. I have more bikes that I'm willing to pay rego for - especially at the currect exorbitant rates!

DR-Z400SM for general road and off-road use. VFR400R for the racetrack, and a '78 RD350 will be getting stripped down for track use this summer too.

Plus an A80, a minimoto, and me'n Squiggles co-own two bucket sidecars.

Makes for a crowded garage!

I selected sports plus trail, but really is a GS1100G plus a KLR650. I didn't count the FZR1000 in long term storage

I spasm every time I get on my bike, its almost orgasmic........ I guess I like all sorts of bikes, and curious to know what others hold in there values to draw a parallel.
I have been a motocross rider, Trials (back in the day as well), adventure (Fun) Sports bike and cruiser rider. I like them all, however my prob is trying to justify road legal requirements these days. Its high. :scooter::scooter:

A cruiser-tourer (Road King), a vintage (BSA B36) another vintage (Yamaha AS3) a vintage side car (CJ750) and couple of vintage mopeds (Solex).

About the only bike I regret selling was a Triumph tiger 500cc café racer.

A sensible bike would be a GS1200 but....... well........ its a bit sensible.......... um.........

Make sure you get the same brand regardless, that way when you swap your plate over to avoid paying your dues it will take cop who knows bikes to recognise the difference.

I've always had more than one bike - since I bought a second bike in 1974 ... I have a Commuter Scooter - which is currently a 650 Bandit - and a long distance bike - currently a 1250 Bandit. I replaced an older commuter bike (Honda) with the 650 Bandit and loved it so much I sold my older long-distance bike - a BMW - and bought the 1250.

There's no right answerr to your question. What do you want your bikes to do? A speed freak machine like the speed triple with a more cruisey long distance bike is a good combination ... but you might find that a Harley-styled cruiser is way too different. (I feel very very uncomfortable just sitting on them).

Try a BMW or maybe even the Ducati tourer.

A big one for weekends and a small one for commuting. But if one of them suffers from a terminal illness or accident I probably won't replace it, what with the cost of registration...

Sportsbike for the road=gsxr 750. Trackday bike= gsxr600 motard for keeping licence-drz 400sm and bucket-fxr 150. Just a dirt bike and pre 89 racer to go, oh and the restoration project too!!!!

I am actively considering a race project, bucket or somesuch first off, rather than one of the options listed in the poll myself. I have far too many mates who race to not get hooked eventually. Problem, limited mobility with work, study and the relative distance to my nearest track. This is only a temporary problem however, so watch this space lol

I just added a Daytona 675 to a garage that already houses a VFR 800 and a CBR400RR what with the rego costs going up through the roof the little one may have to go when Summer gets here.
