Did anyone catch the doco on Prime tonight about "men in frocks"? Apparently a large number of transvestites are into bikes, mainly sport bikes and track racing. Apparently it has a lot to do with the tight fitting leather clothing....... .
For me, this answers a lot of questions about sport bike riders....

Actually, I saw that and thought it was really interesting and well done. More power to their elbows, I say..!
Actually, it occurs to me I could relate an interesting family story, here.
My adoptive great grandmother was a biochemist and a bit of a rebel for her times. She couldn't get employed in the U.K., so hopped on a boat to South Africa. On the way, she cut her hair, changed her name to 'Peter' and became a 'man'. She lived as a man for ten years, rising through the ranks of a pharmaceutical company in Capetown until one day she had an accident on her motorbike. (She was a very keen biker.) She woke up the next day on the women's ward, jobless.
Fortunately she had saved up enough to buy some land, so she buggered off to a remote spot to farm. She lived until she was at least 103; in fact, for all I know, she's still going!

I've always found it an odd thing that a Transvestite is considered 'beyond the pale' and yet stuff like tattoo's, odd piercings and lesbians are OK...
If a bloke wants to pretend he is a woman or indeed go the whole way and become a woman... Good luck to ya and frankly I'm in awe of people that pull it off because it is a hell of a difficult thing to do! (as opposed to say getting ink or a piercing)
Yet some people seem to place these people up their with pedophiles etc..
I find it quite odd....
I believe that it is a very healthy thing to have a fanatsy life (no not necessarily sexual) or a dream and pursue it. Studies have shown people with obsessions are happy people.... (don't laught it's how I justify my Guzzi)

By the way Paul(ine), how did the op go? :msn-wink:
I didn't see the programme.
I've only ever personally known one transvestite that I know of, and I knew him for years before he finally admitted to being one, or should I say was forced to after I bumped into him and a friend of his all dressed up one night when I was out clubbing. Poor bugger was sooo embarrassed. probably not helped by the fact that I was pissed and said something like, "WTF, fancy dress party is it?"
Top guy, very much a hetro, but got a kick out of wearing ladies clothing.
I first met him on a bike ride.
Although I do work with a guy that has long, perfectly groomed hair, wears blouses and has his nails painted. So I guess he's a budding or full transvestite too. :whocares:

uh, excuse me, I'm off to hide everything leather that isn't bike related..
I used to know one,and I still happily fondle his tools every day....We vaguely knew each other in days of yore, then were living in the same small community and had bikes in common.A gumboot wearing, greatcoat clad longhaired hippy.....the hair became well groomed and the clothes cleaner, then a name change, and later the whole nip and tuck.He/she decided not to get their hands dirty as a mechanic anymore and I was allowd to pick through his tools for special items (lots of special bike stuff) at very good prices, and also had the pick of his bike stuff too.I had no problem with it and we laughed about it - I never changed my opion about her,she was as big an idiot as a woman as a man....
....and later the whole nip and tuck.
Shiiiiiit. I know this sounds condescending, but I can't help feeling sorry for guys/gals that go to such an extreme. What a total head fuck life must be to want to have your bits chopped off as you feel so strongly about wanting to be seen to be a woman. And vise versa. If that's possible. Not the dressing up bit, but having reconstructive surgery to form a penis.
There's somebody on here that's an expert on these things. She posted a link to a transvestite site recently and is an active member (so to speak), of some sorts.
Any advice please?

Biff those that have gone throu the sex change are called "transgender" .They are born in the wrong body. Example is Georgina Beyer. She was born in in a boys body but should have been born a woman.
Transgendered folk go throu hell most of their lives until they get the change done. They know in themselves who they are, but they have to prove it to so many people - Dr's etc before they can have the op. The Operation itself is very costly. There are more men becoming women than there are women becoming men. "Transsexual's" have yet to go throu the operation, but on the hormone replacement therapy meds etc.
Transvestite's are people who like to dress up in women's clothes, and are usually hetrosexual men. They are sometimes also called a "cross-dresser" example the NZ police officer who was caught nicking women's clothes in the Manawatu area a couple of years ago. He was straight but loved the feel of satin on his body.
Jazbug Wow be proud of who 'Peter' was/is, as Peter knew who he really was. Back then there were no operations.
There are still many who are living like "Peter" today and no one would ever know. Not until they die when it is discovered. Example a video called "The Ballad of Jo".
I do believe that the programme should be shown on TV1 or other main free to air TV channel's so that everyone in NZ got the chance to see it.
It is an excellent programme.

By the way Paul(ine), how did the op go? :msn-wink:
It would need more than one OP to make me into a passable woman mate..
I don't take offence at that of course, but I can't but wonder if you are being a little defensive on the subject Zadok old son.. After all, making scale model motorcycles could be viewed by some as being equally odd. (Not me, I'm all for it) It all sort of depends on where you stand..
FWIW. Vicki and I have had several gay neighbours over the years and found them (usually) to be bloody good people to have living next door. We have been invited to several AMAZING parties including (when we lived in ChCh to the Gay Oscars.. I have to say, they were bloody brilliant nights out.
The only time I was flumoxed was when I was standing at the 'mens' urinal and this drop dead gorgeous supermodel wearing heel and not a lot else at all stepped up beside me and untucked herself for a little wee... Fark the look on my face must have been hilarious! I mean she was bloody STUNNING - real playboy material, a REAL woman and she still stood up to wee... I tell you! I just didn't know what to do or where to look and it quite put me off my business but we both cracked up and had a frigging good laugh about it! Shit it was funny (but you had to be there)
Vicki and I had a bloody good time that night and others.
I also used to service the old Toll rooms. There were a lot of trans gender people working there and as a young oily biker type they used to give me heaps! When I got married we bought a Triumph Spitfire sportscar. One 'notable' lady asked "(in a high camp voice) OOOHH! Who owns that darling little sports car, I fancy a ride on that" One of the other wags cautioned her, "Oh you better be careful he's a rough bikie type, he'll pull your arms off if you get too cheeky." (which since they were both taller and tougher than me was a bloody laugh).... (by now the whole toll room was looking and I was getting a bit embarassed) "Oh good she says.... I like em rough".... aaarrgghhh.... The whole place erupted in laughter!
My professional reputation was shot but I always got on well with everyone after that!
I'm not saying ALL these people are great folks, I'm sure there are a lot of nasty ones (just like hetro sexual people) but you really should not judge people by their orientation. Personally, I reckon that the life they choose is hard enough as it is and it's not something you would do for a laugh. You have to be committed!
Just my thoughts anyway!
Cheers

ps - It is funny though. A lot of GLBT folks see unfashionable, poor, old fat, white middle aged men like me and just expect me to be a bigot and a hater... I wonder how many times that expectation envokes a negative reaction? Just a thought!

Bikers are used to being discriminated against. And since they also see that the discrimination stops when they take off the helmet and leathers, they realise how stupid such attitiudes are.
Also most bikers will be rather non-conformist.After all, they're all doing something that "society" disapproves of. So they will judge situations and people on their merits rather than a society-conditioned response.

So... Since Moto Guzzi is such a tiny brand and pretty well does everything differently to everyone else in the biking world that would make someone that owns one a bit of a non conformist biker? And since bikers are non conformists... And remembering that I don't conform to the biker 'norm' which is already non conformist, does this make me a non conforming non conformist? If so.. Have I in deed come full circle and started to conform again?

Yup most of us are ok about the GLBT brigade (new term for me). Unfortunately there are one or two narrow minded people here that aren't particularly accepting. Which is a shame.
I know of one 'L' here, a recent convert to KB who admitted it herself in a post recently. Good to know that this person is comfortable enough to talk about their partner openly here without fear of getting bombarded with smutty remarks. Although I for one reserve the right to perv and be smutty in general about all things female/pornographic/gay or straight. And I enjoy talking about my penis. Because nobody else here does. And I have a reputation to uphold after all.
But I do have a problem with AH's and FW's.

Yup - I know that. Thanks anyway. The question was really, are there females out there that have operations to "build a penis"? I think the operation is reffered to as a strapadicktome, or similar. Seriously though, are there?

..
When I put people in boxes I always make sure that I stuff all their bits in the box. Sometimes they wriggle about a bit which makes it harder, but if you wack them about the head a bit they generally stop wriggling and you can stuff all their bits in the box .Then nail the lid on really tight , with big nails. Then take the boxes and hide them in my very special place. With the other boxes . You have to make sure the lids fit well though otherwise the boxes get real pongy for a bit.

Yes there are a few that have had the full operation.
But most don't thou, as they have a implant inside it to make it go 'up'.
So at this stage it isnt the most successful for them.
Ok I wont go into the technical side of what happens in these operations.
But I do know what happens, as a i have a few transgender friends and they have told me what they go throu.

Hey but without intending to upset people or cause a ruckus... Purely as an observation on human nature..
Isn't it interesting how we can feel free to poke the borax at a large dude but other 'different' people are acceptable or off limits? I bet he would find some of the comments made about him just as hurtful as someone else would find comments about their gender orientation??
We are a funny old species aint we...

Hmmm - I wonder if it has anything to do with choices. What I mean is, a gay Ozzie is one thing, in that he was born gay and Ozzie, but a fat gay Ozzie, would he be fair game simply because he'd just eaten too many pies? Mince pies of course.

Biff those that have gone throu the sex change are called "transgender" .
I went to high school with someone like that. The poor guy was very slight and effeminate, and being a boy's school, he was subject to a lot of harrassment.
I saw him again a year or two after I finished high school, dressed as a woman (he may have had a sex change by then, for all I know). He looked much better as a girl than a guy, and seemed more comfortable too.

It takes all sorts to make a good site. Differences of opinion are par for the course. I try to keep an open mind about people until i've met them and can form my own opinions. And there'll be no beating up happening - cos then they'd have to deal with the wrath of Aunty Riff Raff (and a bit of forewarning peoples - I've gone back to being a redhead - so combine that with my Irish/Scottish roots and Saggitarianism and there's one scary combination)

Gees - the people I've pissed off here, trust me lady, you're Florance freakin Nightingale compared to some of us here. Just ignore them anyway. I'm the only important person here, and you're doing just fine as far as I'm concerned.
Just remember these 5 important rules and you'll be fine:
1. I know what I'm talking about, even when I don't
2. Everything is about me, and my penis.
3. If it's not about me then it's not important.
4. Have I mentioned me yet?
4. Where did 5 go?
5. Ahh, there it is.

hehe so if anyone gives me any grief in person I'll hide behind ya both :grouphug:
II've only ever personally known one transvestite that I know of, and I knew him for years before he finally admitted to being one, or should I say was forced to after I bumped into him and a friend of his all dressed up one night when I was out clubbing. Poor bugger was sooo embarrassed. probably not helped by the fact that I was pissed and said something like, "WTF, fancy dress party is it?"
He wasnt a tory MP was he? :niceone:

Whilst they/we arn't all as ravenously horny as biff, your far more likely to get taken advantage of in other ways, than of getting beaten.. Unless of course you like that sort of thing in which case I'm sure Biff will be happy to oblige  :grouphug:

I take a fence at that. 'They' have been known to hang on for at least 30 seconds, 15 to get my trousers down and 5 to pull them back up. And I always apologise should I trump during the intimate act. Hmmph
