Workshop manual 1998 M 750

Hello all,

Just new here...and to the great game of bike riding!

I am looking for a english workshop manual for a ducati M750 1998. I got one with my bike but its for the M900, which has a dry clutch....and mine has a wet clutch...

And thats exactly what needs to be pulled apart and repaired:angry:

Was hoping that someone here might know where i can download one for free? Until now i can only find one in german.

Any help would be great!!

I think you'll struggle to find a free download, at least in English. carlsalter.com only has the parts and owners manuals for your bike (which may be of some help?)

thanks guys, i looked on that site and indeed they only have forgein versions or owner manuals. I guess i may have to bite the bullet and buy one....got to start some where.

This will be my first project maintance wise! Have a problem with the clutch sticking after you change gear. I think its a o ring in the slave cylender that has perished and jamming things up a bit. Would have been easier with a dry clutch :(

Any tips on pulling it appart?

You should probably join a brand specific forum, I can recommend www.ducati.ms - they have a separate forum within the site for each model, so it's very easy to tap into a wealth of knowledge from other owners of the same model.
The majority of clutch issues with Ducati's, especially earlier model belt drives is with the stock clutch slave cylinder, most people replace them with an aftermarket one such as Yoyodyne, Evoluzione, Ducati Performance or the later uprated OEM Ducati one (you can tell the later version as it looks like it has a huge Torx screw in the centre of it (see pic) http://www.gothamcycles.com/catalog/19540031A.jpg as opposed to earlier model ones which look more like this: http://www.racingvincent.co.uk/04%20Photos%20-%20Restoration/4.15%20My%20Other%20Bikes/Italiian%20Bikes/Ducati%20916/Slave%20Cylinder%2001.jpg

Have you tried bleeding the clutch?

The other thing is if your bike has done higher mileage it may need a new clutch pack, I'm not familiar with the wet clutch models, but the dry clutch versions cause problems once the clutch plates wear past a certain point.

I hav'nt yet bleed the clutch.
The model i have has a internal slave which is the thing....it means i need to take the whole side cover off to get to it....

7 Euro for a pdf download of the factory Ducati manual, he has most models if anyone else is after something. I found him very good to deal with, as long as you have Pay Pal it's no worries.
