My ute and several or more vehicles were broken into early ours of the morning (10th Aug 10) in Elmslie Road, Pinehaven, Upper Hutt. This is the second time in as many months. No one was caught this time and it appears they are possibly different Offenders.

There stereo will require a pin reset from Mitsubishi or Kenwood as this (the pin) for the immobiliser and stereo was not recorded in the manual...

I'm not claiming insurance as its not worth it and they are covering the glass replacement for free (again)...

Really pissed off at the moment more so from the inconvenience.

Cheers for that appreciate that. The ute glass is replaced (again), the CD's and stereo can be replaced. It just gets on mah tits that we work our arse off and these fuckknuckles have no respect and steal to support their lifestyle rather than working and supporting what ever life style they have.

Lol, we have a medium sized ugly dog, but she normally stands behind me and barks, I think she thinks I'm the badass, well certainly the ugly one lol.

The reason I park the ute on he road is the car pad only fits one vehicle, my bike, a dirt bike and a garden shed.

My ute is a 'blokes ute' and not a pristine shopping cart lol. That aside it has served me well and I treat her as I do my bike, well mechanically.

Interesting note is that the insurance company (Tower), on each occasion have been bloody great to deal with. Also have to praise Novus in Lower Hutt, what a great team and great service on each occasion.

We are hiring a digger this weekend to enlarge the car pad area. We had not planned to extend this until summer as we have some other major Landscaping to do but such is life.

There is a Family Group Conference coming up for six of the juveniles that were caught the last (first) time this happened. I'll be soaking a book of wet bus tickets, so that I can give them a good thrashing. The Justice system is an Arse

Wonder if there's any traps you could rig that seem like legitimate faults in the vehicle or items you'd use.

eg finding an old seat with the hardened, rusty springs sticking subtly through, replacing your seat and bringing a cushion out every time you hop in your car. First thing they'll be doing if they smash a window is unlocking the door and launching a knee or bum onto the seat.

I didn't rig a trap, I just can't afford to replace my crappy old seat after the last break in.

I was pleased in some respect as I had taken my large set up that evening. That would have really pissed me off as its a cracker. Have been doing more than just looking on trademe too, funny thing is I don't want the items back I want the hands that took them. ;)
