Welcome Vampirella - cool username! :) Check out the NASS (north auckland street skills) ride on wed nights (there is a thread with info) - good way to meet friends and improve your skills.
Good choice of first bike too

Sorry - that was a bit presumptuous - assuming it's your first bike and that your skills need improving! You might have been riding 20 years and be able to stunt your bike, for all I know!

welcome! so are you a twilight vampire, or a true blood vampire?
the honda vtr250 is a very good learner bike, I had it's predecessor the vt250 to learn on, damn near indestructible, enjoy it :2thumbsup

Welcome to KB Vimpirella.
I've got the same bike (2001 VTR250 in RED), being a learner myself I've been riding now since June & in all weather I can say I'm looking forward to Summer.
I love my 250, until something bigger comes along - but that can wait whilst I'm getting some good experience.

Well, my friend Greentea has just got her own VTR250 and is (re)learning how to ride a motorbike all over again!
Hopefully when she has improved in ability and confidence, she can go for a ride out with you and discover some good roads to ride!
Welcome to the site, keep your fingers away from the flaming posts and beware the trolls waiting to bait you into their lairs!

Hi, I am recently new to bike riding although i have just got my full licence. I went on the riderskills free Sunday ride last weekend. They split us into two groups for the novices/new riders and another group for experienced. It was fantastic, well run and friendly. We went from Cycletreads/Hoysung in Barry Points Road. Ride left at 10.00 am and returned at 12.30 pm. It is on the first Sunday of each month. There is a Wednesday night ride at the Shell service station at Westagte as well run by another group. That departs at 7.00 pm (arrive at 6.30 pm). People on the Sunday ride recommended that to me saying they do skill based training.

Welcome to the site.
I must say I was a big fan of your namesake when I was in my teens (some ways back). Now that's one curvy lady.
