Hi all
Noob question here I have been riding for about 6 months but the only real dedicated bike gear that I own is my helmet. My dad and my uncle have been pressuring me to buy some leathers so I need some proper motorcycle gloves, boots, jacket and leather pants. who sells the best range of ladies styles?

When I got my gear I saw that Cycletreads has a range of Ladies gear.

And if there is'nt any in stock they are re-stocked very quickly, and the staff are good too.

Motomail had a limited amount of stock and I though slightly more expensive - although they do have a room downstairs with discounted / out of season stock.

I deal with Motomail and find the gear is a little expensive but good quality. Pretty good to deal with too.

i've got Qmoto jacket and pants (the first link in the first reply)

theres plenty of back and forth about gear on this site, but out in the real world i found quasis gear to be a brilliant fit, pretty comfortable for the high level of protection afforded and for my money the price was great too.

he and his wife are fantastic to deal with, happy to recommend them.

i believe they tend to do ladies gear on a one off basis so may cost a little more than whats listed on the website, but to my mind this just means you get the perfect jacket etc to fit you. will certainly be talking to them again once i can convince the missus to get on the back of my bike :)

and for the record, i have no association with qmoto other than as a very happy customer!

In terms of value for money, quasi is pretty hard to beat.

I also have some gear (made to measure) that I got from Jet Leathers (has posted on here). The leather is perhaps nicer than the quasi leather but the gear costs more and is probably no safer than the quasi gear which does have good specs.

I have replaced a couple of zips on my quasi jackets but then I have worn the hell out of them so reasonable wear and tear involved there I guess. I have two of his jackets and one set of trousers.

Personally I like leather. Wouldn't wear anything else. Just my opinion.

I have quite small hands and couldnt find any gloves that would fit me properly, so i have ended up with some leather gardening gloves from Mitre 10 Mega, they fit perfectly.

When I bought my bike I bought all new Revit Gear...awesome stuff.

Jackets, pants, gloves, boots - all fits awesome and I love the built in armour stuff, especially on my gloves....any one for a punch-up?

Joking aside, Revit is awesome gear, apparently a little on the pricey side, but hey, my body is priceless!

Also, just purchased some Revit wet-weather over-the-top jacket and pants and a lovely Revit thermal top with built in wind resistance. Awesome - again.

If you go to the www.qmoto.co.nz website, click 'Quasimoto Stockists' and you'll find the details for a fully stocked distributor in Auckland :wari:

That's one of the reasons why Quasi doesn't sell ladies gear anymore - too much hassle dealing with the "Does my bum look big in this?" questions  I have Quasimoto gear, but I bought it a couple of years ago. Apparently it looks ok from behind :shifty:

I'd recommend motomail and cycletreads - they have the best range, and should give you at least a 10% discount, probably more if you're buying a whole set. Make sure you deal with Chris.

Good luck and have fun - shopping for gear is cool!

Lifestyle Imports in Pukekawa (not far from Pukekohe) are good too. They have quite a bit of ladies gear and are priced really well.

Have got quite a lot of stuff from here and would highly recommend. Just give Rick a call first as he's not always home. He also does after hours and weekends if you can't get out there during the week etc.

I have at some or other time purchased gear form most of the recommendations posted here - and they all did the job they were intended for and considering the price paid.

Generally leather is the way to go but again it depends on your ride.

Check out combos or offers that some of these places may have. If you only have a helmet at the mo then you need a whole lot more gear including boots.

As has been already posted, there is a stockist of his products here in Auckland with some examples of his gear but most is specifically ordered to your requirements. It's a hard task keeping everything that could be required in stock AND still remain very competitively priced. I would suggest you send a pm to vtec (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/member.php/1682-vtec)on here (Auckland stockist) and arrange with him to see the gear...like I said his gear is very good quality and reasonably priced too. He's my sponsor and I've personally crashed in his gear racing 3 times and walked away with mainly bruises. He uses top quality stitching and 'knox' armor.

I would only ever recommend leather as I believe it is better to err on the safer side and leather out performs textiles every time.

That is such a sad thing to do. Personally i would doubt they are going to be of much benefit when ya crash. They are for gardening not motorcycles.
Had a mate of mine used to wear riggers gloves. He got spat off on the west coast and nearly lost all his knuckle bones.

They are not for crashing in, they are for keeping my hands warm in winter.

Try the rev it gear out at motomail if Quasi can't sort ya out, it's got the right shape for women (at least their woman's stuff does) which is pretty important. Quality seems ok too. It's what my mrs wears.

wet = get one of those big yellow rainsuit thingees

though personally i have a set of leathers and a set of textile gear for dodgy looking days, but only cos i commute on my bike - if i were just a fun times rider i'd stick to leather only

Quasi would be out of business if his gear wasn't good.

Its a shame really. Because his gear is so good, I can't harass him about his business.

Go for a blast over the bridge to CycleTreads, or city-side to Motomail.

Really need to try stuff on before buying, as sizes differ hugely between brands.

I thought the same...one never plans on meeting the road but aren't the hands the first thing we put out to portect ourselves?

Hey Fanny, Revit have some awesome ladies gloves, I have rather small hands myself and got some gloves that fit awesomely. Protect your body as much as you can!
