Anthrax and Cary's Sunday ride to Puhoi via Muriwai Beach - Sun 15 Aug

We are going for a scoot up to Muriwai, up the beach, off at Rimmers then back roads to the puhoi for lunch. Join us. There will be soft sand getting to and from the beach but the rest should be easy gravel and seal. Meet at Shell westgate. Ride leaves with or without you at 8:30am sharp.

Might be keen to join you, have to see what the weather for the weekend brings (not just being whimpy for riding, but have other stuff happening weather dependent).

You may want to consider doing the Wilsons Road track off the beach, it is more fun than the Rimmer Road one and only about 20km further north (by fun I mean about 4-5km of sandy beach access track then 10km of gravel), downside is it adds some tarmac to get back down to Hellensville.

That road is my part of my fav route from the shore out west. Looks like it was quite muddy, not quite as bad as last time I went through tho, it was flowing down that part of the track like a river.

Would have loved to join you guys but instead I spent the day wishing I had crash bars on my bike.
