Sold two things on trademe with a clear "buyer must pick up". Get a question about shipping to Auckland. Seen as it was only a jacket that could be stuffed in a bag i think sure why not. So they buy it and ask how much. After telling them the price there is no contact for a week. Then today they say they are going to the snow and want to pick it up on the way down after we have already paid for the shipping

Also sold some snowboarding boots to someone in Rotorua. Again with buyer must pick up. Except they thought we were in Auckland as they had someone there who could them pick up. Now have to have weeks for them to come get them. At least this person has paid.

Trademe should be simple. I don't know why people have to make it so difficult.

And then i purchased a book i needed for class. Used pay now on Thursday (midday) thinking it would be couried on Friday and would arrive Monday in time for my class. They tell me on Friday it will be sent on Monday and will arrive Tuesday. It arrives Thursday  I thought using pay now from a company that sells books for a living would speed things up. Apparently not.

Yeah there's a huge number of muppets on trade me,thankfully you can get back your success fees, there are a lot of clowns that press buy now on auctions, and never pay for it.

Muppets that use trademe!

Like the ones that bitch and moan because you won thier $1 reserve auction for $1 and then won't talk too you because they believe you should've paid more .......

Yep, usually the first question on trademe is asking for a buy now price, the second is some muppet that can't read asking how much to ship to the other end of the country. When I'm selling something I now put this in the text

********Buyer must pick up**********

so that hopefully all but the terminally stupid get the message.

Having said that, my last 3 trademe transactions have been mint. Buying/selling 2 cars and a bike, classified ads not auctions and all of them were listed one day, sold the next with no dramas at all. There are some intelligent people using trademe you just have to hope you get them instead of the morons.

Sold for $1. I even took it around to the guy who only had a $2 coin! But don't tell trademe they will want their fees for the extra $1

Best ones are those that ask if you can remove an auction for them so they can buy the item when they get the money together  ha yeah right

Personally I love tardme, brought some great stuff at great prices. But there are some bloody plonkers to deal with, I tend to check there feedback if they are bidding on one of my auctions.

I bought 2 sets of brand new speakers - 6.5" for $30 and 6x9's for $25 yesterday. picked both up. awesome deals.

I'd charge the guy for the postage. Call it 'handling' costs

What amuses me is that very rarely you see someone bid on an item they have asked a question about.

I had a great numpty on Tardme once. I put up a computer monitor, in the right category and all. I had a question whether I would courier the TV to the Hawkes Bay and could you plug a game console into it. TV????? I answered it politely that no it wasn't a TV so you couldn't plug a game console into it. Thought it'd be the las I'd hear but................... When the auction closed lo and behold this numpty bought it.

I emailed her and said "your aware its not a TV eh?", She said no??? So I let her off the hook and requested my fees back!

Yikes!

I'd always respected sellers wishes with this in the past...............until I got shafted, so now I will ask, if I really want something.

Many sellers don't stick to their own terms!
