Our car yard is selling new and used cars like hot cakes, but the workshop is dead.I was reading vehicle sales stats in the Radiator yesterday, car sales are up...bike sales not.All the major brands are showing a loss of sales - but one Chinese bike (forget which) was up over 600%!

A crisis caused by uncontrolled credit expansion has apparently been cured, by the uncontrolled expansion of cash to match...
Somehow I don't think we have seen the end of this recession, in fact the best may be yet to come.

hmmm I have my doubts
The story in NZ
Retail sales excl Auto are down.
Fonterra is expecting milk prices to go down (again)
6000 kiwis became unemployed last June
Wage gap between Aus and NZ is still increasing, many kiwis heading over there too. Expect skill shortage.
Manufacturing in NZ down considerably
Bank lending has slowed significantly, higher OCR has pushed up mortgage rates, recent property tax law changes mixed together with migration to Oz has lowered house sales.
Both business and consumer confidence down by various surveys.
Overseas
#1 Eco powerhouse (USA) Unemployment up, Sales down, Confidence waning
#2 Eco powerhouse (China) Manufacturing down growth continuing to slow
Europe... If in a little country like Greece where it's books cause international markets to drop 10% in 3 months imagine what would happen once Spain, Ireland and France come out of the woodwork...
So I still have my doubts....

No matter what happens in the economy someone is always complaing ...
The dollar goes up ... exporters complain .. the dollar goes down, importers complain ... Interest rates go up ... mortgage payers complain, but economists love it . when the drop economists forecast doom and gloom ...
Who gives a fuck ... not something we can influence ...
