I was at Levels yesterday and it looks like unless I hire a transponder @ $20 I don't get any bucket points. That means KOL x 3 and KOR x 3 plus a few others will cost me at least $120 for my points. This is not working for me.

You have a few options

A) Pay the money, fit the transponder, get the points
B) No transponder, No points
C) Don't go racing
D) Only do the BEARs series
E) Stay in your workshop coming up with ways to thrash the filthy FXR brigade

There might be more I can come up with I will come back later if I think of any

You could save $20 a meet and buy your own transponder?

Vic Club Manfeild rounds are $95-$135 depending on the track they run + $20 if you cross enter and $33.75 per day for transponder hire, we've got it pretty good down here

we could always kick up a stink so the decide to hate us or bring prices into line with the rest of the country.........motorcycle racing is pricey.......thats life!

I think it has something to do with being able to PROVE you have done x amount of laps with x being your lap times. Also if it came to a close finish, or time penalties were imposed for some indiscretion, you need to know exactly what position/times a person is doing...

Look at it another way. At 20 bucket riders per meeting, @ $20 each. Ie $400 per meeting. Rather pay someone $100 to do it manually and put the remaining $300 into the bucket fund.

That's $ 1800 per year for the kitty and all of us get counted.

When I first started this lark in late 80s racing at Ohakea it cost us $1 a race meet to help pay for the stamps, though it did go up to $2 some while later. Think somone's girlfriend did the points & then we went back the sgts mess to argue about it over $1.70 govt subsidised beers. Was a bit of a drive from wgtn, but no MNZ licence either.

Nah Wal I haven't missed the point at all. Infact I like to see if my times have improved etc.....how far ahead the hoogies are!

There were three seperate classes running in our races yesterday.....try manally sorting that. First race was 1000's and 600's, race two is F3, pro twin and 125's the only whey we get as much riding as we do is because of the ease transponders make the running of the meetings

I chose not to get a transponder at levels-times are hardly a concern in my case!! If I was a riding god like the BUDDHA, I probably would, but I am not, so choose to not concern myself with times.

well it appears the sensible option is make sure at all times you cross the timing area at exactly the same time as a competitor who has a transponder. :yes:

Obviously it will be a little hard to consistently match Hoogie times; so choose a little lower in the pecking order, even if you need to button off a little every lap at the crucial moment. Then just look for their number on the timesheet.

Buy a transponder, use it , when you quit racing sell it , then the rental will only be a few dollars per meet, OR just stump up !
