Hey, I heard an idea from somebody about buying some wets brand new. The idea was that a bunch of us would buy them brand new (I think from some guy down south) and try get a special deal. I am keeeen as (unless it ends up costing a shitload still haha). Anyway, I am just following this up because it looks like a bunch of the welly guys are thinking more and more about it and a couple have started showing up with wets now. I want to join in on this!
So.... who knows where to go to get them haha? Someone mentioned some dude in Christchurch but I really don't know.

Kevin Goddard (aka race supplies) ?
If they are bridgestone wets they will still be 300 odd + a set, even buying in bulk. Unless i am mistaken.
Do vee rubber make wet's? Those should be cheap enough.

I would pay that much as soon as my other bike has sold. They would last a long time if stored correctly. If I get 3 seasons out of them then that's completely worth it

Ok I have done a little research by myself. Sounds like a bulk deal is possible, which is also the only way to go I reckon as they aren't that cheap. $450 brand new including shipping from down south. Anyone got better ideas or are keen?

I am looking at getting a set of 1/4 worn, Medium compound grooved slicks for $200.00 delivered, from them. But have just asked the question and it seems they are late 2007 or early 2008 vintage.
Would these still work on a 14 hp fire breathing FXR 150?
Or after 3 years would they be as hard as hell?

Slap the front on a standard rim, assuming you have a spare, the profile isn't ideal but still better than a correct profile slick on a rainy day at Mt Welly.

Haha that would actually be pretty fun. It is all fun really. Just too $$!! Could chuck sticky tires on my R6 and do the 3 hour with ya instead? Full road kit and everything haha. I'll just head out back now and count how much money is growing on my money tree

Now you're talking. Go the R6. Bit of duck tape and some lock wire and we are on. How much would some tires cost? More than what we both might have I am guessing. Then there is the blowing up of the motor and the crashing of the bike to consider. But I am sure she has had a good life.

For some strange reason heaps of people think they will crash, burn and die if they run slicks in the wet, pussies the lot of them

Here Here. I think the only people that need them are the AK crewe coz there track turn's into a proper lake really fast. Saying that I have some in the shed. I just hate changing tires.

Its true, the drainage is not great but the real problem seems to be the track surface or old go-cart chain oil. When its wet the track becomes super slippery to the point where its easy to slip over if you walk on it............

Aparently nothing has changed. It was always slicker than snot if damp conditions prevailed.
