Posting here 'cause I didn't get any bites in the maintenance forum... :bye:

Hi all... I'm looking for recommendations for a new bike shop to get my Scorpio serviced and WOFed etc. in Wgtn. For the last 2 years she's been serviced where I bought her new, but I've been unhappy with their service and am getting concerned with leaving her with them again. So enough is enough and I'm looking for somewhere new.

I know of one other Yamaha registered service agent, but since I am in town it would be way more convenient to go somewhere nearby. So, any strong recommendations for Welly bike shops, particularly from Scorpio riders, and perhaps from women (as we all know what kind of treatment we can get from techies).

Ok... Go! :2guns:

if you call ben at tss, they will come pick your bike up anywhere in wellington (for free) for servicing, you only have to get out to petone to pick it up at the end of the day. (a $3 train to alicetown), which means you get a nice ride home too :)

always good guys (and girls) to deal with.

Possibly on the more pricey side, but Motorad on Vivian street are very good. I've always had good service and the staff are very honest and helpful, they're where I go every time.

I know someone who bought a scorpio there who also thinks they're very good, but he now goes elsewhere purely due to price. Personally I'm happy to pay extra because, in this case at least, I believe you get what you pay for.

It might pay to download a workshop manual because you could probably do most of the work yourself seeing it's quite a simple bike, and keep the major servicing for the pros.

actually pretty good advice from you smokey, but depending on ones situation, tools, time and location can make it unreasonable to DIY; or ya just can't be arsed...get someone else to do it

The missus and I get all our bikes serviced there too...the Beamer, her Scorpio and Vespa too. A+
