There is a bloke in Linwood Ave who will re-sculpt/shape your seat, he is not only an upholsterer but a motorcyclist, his quote for the work I want done on the Duke was shall we say realistic unlike others and he is able to get motorcycle specific vinyls such as the anti slip.

Now I cant remember the details but I can pop down there for a look and get them Monday, I should ask him if he will do a group discount:shifty:

If you do pop in, ask him how closely he can match the 2 tone colour scheme of my Katana seat.

I had a seat reshaped and custom recovered a few years back by Auto Marine & Upholstery 369 Tuam Street (just over Fitzgerald Ave). 3775 406.

Excellent job and price, I've also had him work on some work vehicles. He does a fair bit of custom car work and they are very fussy.

I would not hesitate to use him again, indeed a idea is brewing for the plain jane Hornet seat cover .......

You should take the opportunity to consider a custom cover - something a bit different from stock - a textured/plain mix or even different coloured piping. Maybe sew a coloured stripe over the back or something.

Dont forget to ask for a group discount (or atleast a two tone colour scheme).

Otherwise, be sure to write up a review of the quality of the job done so I know where to take my Katana seat.

I went to Agnew Bro- Recovering both riders seat and pillon seat for $100ish. I didnt ask about a group discount as thought that was reasonable. Dropped 1 seat of yesterday and the other today, both were ready to pick up thisavo but I didnt get there in time. No custom cover just got a standard black one.

Will update on monday when I get them how they look.

Thought i would resurrect this thread, is anyone still up for a bulk discount type o thing?

I am keen to get mine done quite soon and if people still are wanting theirs done, i.e the fella with the katana and the dude on the mc19 (not good with remembering names) then maybe we could try get a bulk thing going? anyone else in chch that wants theirs done too can raise their hands.

I recently used NZ Vinyl Repair & Trim Shop
129 Wordsworth

377 1757

Cost $120 for complete reshape of two seats, plus repacking them, and covering the two seats plus a sissy bar P pad.

I'm very happy with the job

Not slippery at all. They have a bunch of materials you can choose and I went with a marine vinyl used on the chairs on boats, with pitting and pattering to make it look and feel like leather.

ahh sweet, the choosing of materials is good. and yes it does look like leather (probably hence the reason why I asked if it was slippery)

well it is my turn to get my seat re-done. i went to agnew, they quoted me near $150 (I don't have the piece of paper on me that said the price they quoted. Screw that I thought, so went around to places like advanced upholstery, they were not a lot better. A few quoted me $120, getting closer I thought... Then I tried Patrick Auto Trimmers. Spoke to Wayne, he was like 'should be about $90 tops. :woohoo:

Dropped it in yesterday, and am picking it up at lunch time on Wednesday. Will let you know how it went, if anyone wants to know that is...

I can also go into more detail for those that want to know who I went to for quotes.

Yep, thats the guy who has done a couple for me too. He did a really nice job on my CB400F seat: bought a repro original seat cover and he did the new foam thing. He also did one of my CB750's too.

Why did I sell those bikes again?
