As we're all aware, that skinny White Trash is finally leaving us. It's been a long time coming.

Anyway, we need to replace him.

Are you a keen, participating motorcyclist, who would like to work for a dealership representing New Zealands top franchises- Suzuki, Triumph, Harley-Davidson and Buell?

You may never have sold a motorcycle before, training will be given. You will need to be a well presented, totally enthusiastic motorcyclist with great confidence.

This position is available to anybody, of any age group who can display the above attributes, so young people, don't be afraid to apply.

Please take notice, that if you don't hold a current full motorcycle lecence and you are not a true participating motorcyclist, please do not apply.

Contact: Garry Gill, Wellington Motorcycles, 12 Kent Tce, Wellington. Phone 04 3844149

I know I could do this job and if we meet I'm sure you'll be convinced too.

However I have nearly 10 months to go before I get my full, so sadly I believe that rules me out.

In a few months I should be getting my race license would that qualify at all???

Ahhhhh, imagine getting paid to talk shit about bikes with like minded individuals. Imagine 'having' to test ride the demo bikes so that you can offer your opinions. What a bloody terrible job...

I do have sales experiance just not with motorcycles. I'm asking would it be possible for someone who gets this job to start training for being a mechanic.

Nope. Although quite why the hell you'd want to work on bikes if you could successfully sell them is beyond me.

Each to their own I guess.

Why do you guys talk about 'shop' when you mean mechanic-y stuff?

Because it's a mechanic shop or mechanic bay. Just sounds cooler to just say shop or bay.

Anyway what time fram do you need someone to be available for the job? As in what's the latest that you'l need someone to apply.

White trash

Well best you enroll at the polytech for a Mortorcycle machanics course.

And the "shop" is a shop. The "workshop" is where the grease monkeys like Hayden hang out.

Then get yourself to tech and do the course - I believe there's a bit of a shortage of motorbike mechanics.

Ummm, apply as soon as you can. You'd need to be able to start within a month or so although I think they've got temporary cover if need be.

Yea and the fact that they closed the only course in the country that tought motorcycle mechanics didn't help that any.

Funny really, I REALLY dislike that bike - most people would find it ugly - but my loathing of it is bordering on irrational.

Actually.... I'd probably never say that, I have opinions on things but I'm old enough to know that looks are entirely subjective... FWIW I don't really like the looks of the new Moto Guzzi 1100 Breva much. The last one I REALLY liked was the old 1100i Sport

What year is it down there?
But yeah - I understand - I'm going to chuck more money at my trophy because there isn't a new bike currently on the market that suits me as well.

I DO like the Street Rod, but it's out of my $ range and i do like the ST - but it's a tad too small for me, so stick with what i have and refurbish is the answer too.

Ive been practicing, I can give the following answers with a straight face.

"You know Harleys are really taking off with younger riders"

"Bikes arent about horsepower, it about torque"

"American quality."

"Black leather and tassles really look good on you."

"Oh your the first lawyer/accountant/IT guy weve sold one of these to."

"Chrome is classy."

And I can say Buell and high performance in the same sentance.

No its okay, Im not really after the job, it would just lead to the feeding of my addiction.
