Question for today folks. Do government ministers entertain members of boards of corporations that they are responsible for, in their own homes? Apparently Nick Smith does.

Probably a damn sight cheaper than taking them all to a restuarant and dining in gives them all that warm 'family' feeling......bit of bonding going on me thinks!

At the Ministerial House sounds quite normal to me. If it had been at his private house back home that might have been a bit odd.

Unless you want ministers of the crown telling you who you are allowed to entertain at your own residence I'd suggest we don't try and tell them who they are allowed to entertain at their own residence.

I think you made a typo, shouldn't it read "Do government ministers entertain members of boards of corruptions" ?
If so, the answer is yes they do.

If this was government business why did Nick Smith pay for the wine consumed personally?

Not sure if you are questioning the wisdom of inviting the people you are to hold to account for a friendly meal in your own home or questioning if such a meal ought be paid for by the us the tax and levy payers. If the former I never had aproblem with that if it is the later I think we seem to have developed a culture where the more you are paid the more it seems you charge us to someone else. I see it as pretty close ot theft or corruption but have to acknowledge I am of an older generation.

They're allowed to entertain whoever the fuck they want. When they're using tax/acc payers money to do it however is a bit stink. At least he paid for the wine out of his own (enormous) pocket.
