Finally had a break in the crap weather so decided to wash the V11 and gave her a CRC....
Being the typical Italian, she decided to be tempermental and not want to start up..
Here she is in her gleaming glory...
Magnifico !!

Very nice. I seriously looked at one of them years back with they had a big Guzzi discount with a dealer going out of them.
It's a brand that has been slutted around the dealers a fair bit in Christchurch over the years. Good to see there is a dedicated Guzzi dealer set up down Manchester St now.

Very nice. Apart from the ugly headlight and those humangous mufflers!
nudemetalz
23rd August 2010, 13:30
I agree with you on that the mufflers are way too big and when Mrs Nudey is looking the other way I'll get some more "sound enhancing" lighter mufflers for it, but I like the classic headlight. Suits it.

Looking good Chris! :D
What sort of pipes are you thinking of fitting when time/money/Mrs Nudey permits?

23rd August 2010, 20:17
Indeed gorgeous mate, are you using the 808 CRC silicone?
nudemetalz
23rd August 2010, 20:23
Nope, just CRC 5.56 as I needed to dewater it to get the electric on/off switch to enable her to want to start up again anyway. FIgured out how to fix it,....lots of silicone sealant !!!!
and yes I dunno how that scratch got there, one theory is bike parking too close in town. Bloody scooter riders don't care at all.
Pipes? Unsure yet, budget constraints since junior was born hasn't helped but I'll find a way ;)

Suzukis start first pop after being washed, or ridden in the rain.....
nudemetalz
23rd August 2010, 21:22
perhaps they do....but...would you have a C152 that just goes and goes and goes or would you have a Harvard that can be unreliable every now and then but every flight is another experience....
(this is just my opinion BTW, ..I do like Gixxers)

Pasta gets a bad rap but is actually a better choice than rice.
Must be true, it was on the interweb! http://en.allexperts.com/q/Nutrition-Dieting-939/2008/10/Rice-Vs-Pasta.htm

I remember the time my Guzzi wouldn't start and I cranked on her for ages...then she backfired from all of that mixture in the cylinders, blew one of the injectors off the manifold and started as a 550 single...scared the beejezuz out off me !!

Mine got me to Wanaka and back for the airshow without any problems. The Yamaha Fazer and Buell I was with weren't quite so reliable....

bloody lovely, sort of tractor crossed with Ducati - and I mean that as compliment. These things have real soul.

25th August 2010, 09:13
Thanks Tamarillo.
Yup soul is definitely what Guzzis have. They have their own personality. You have to understand it's quirks and idiosyncrasies to own it. Like for instance how to start it when it doesn't bloody want to !!
I'm in the process of CAD designing a fender-eliminator to get rid of that ugly black plastic hanging off the back.
