That's pretty cool..
That chopper has reminded me of an experiance I had when I was doing corporate events (field games for grownups!).. Around mid-morning this private chopper, looking a lot like Skyhawk (but with out the artillery) flew over head, and landed at the main 'house' which was a 'kin pallace.. Anyway, lunch came up, so we went back to the house for whatever was left by the punters and a quick chat etc while they did team building stuff inside.
The pilot was checking over the chopper at this time, and giving it a quick buff, looking like Parker from Thunderbirds. Got chatting to him a little and I told him about my interests in it etc, and all too soon, lunch was over.
The chopper stayed there the whole day for everyone to admire until the end of the day. The owner decided that the Rolls was a nice way home/out, so the chopper was sent on his way. I was in the middle of an open field packing up with the chopper about 400m away in front. I looked up when I heard the turbines spinning up, so I thought I'd just have a minute to admire it as it took off. I'm guessing it was partly for my benefit, and just for his 'shits n giggles' too. The chopper sits for a minute at high idle (finishing checks I'm guessing) then slowly lifts up. It sits about 2 metres high for a couple of seconds, then the gear folds in. As soon as the nose doors shut, the tail rises up and the nose stays on the spot. The chopper scoops up a couple of more meters and heads straight at me, nose down, tail up!!!! Then around 50m before me, shoots straight up and an almost virtical climb, does a U turn and bolts off.. fukin awesome, and something I'm unlikely to forget. Bloody nice chopper too. All leather/wood interior, shagpile carpet etc.. proper private job..
Pretty sure DOH came to us in the 70's
Maybe, must have been rerun in the 80's though (or I wouldn't remember it).

I perceive a whole Yin and yang thing happening here...whilst all the shows i've seen mentioned are predominantly American and well...lamentable, an all time small box low, it was the music of the 80's that stands out for me. Split Enz and Mi Sex and Cold Chisel and midnight oil.
If i had to name TV shows from the era i would mention Minder, Blackadder or any of John Thaws series.

Then there was a four parter called OUT. No idea who stared but it was about a convict recently released from prison. Both Callaan and Out were Brit productions.
But without a doubt the best American show with that sort of thing was WISEGUY. Brilliant. Jerry Lewis had a part in one of the series. Great actor. So too did Kevin Spacey. Just stunning as the Mr Big.

In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court, for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team.

Yes but could not remember the name. One of the few American shows that realy got down into the seamy side of US life. Don't think it lasted too long. Pity as there were realy good stories.
There was another one but for the love of me I can not remember the name of it. It was about a forensic team that dealt with sex crimes etc. The main charecter was a blond male. The person who played the a part was famouse in a cop series. It might have been CHIPS.

Does anyone remember a short-lived show called Highwayman? It featured a large black truck and had Sam Jones in it - he was the only reason I watched it! That was in the 80s.
And you're forgetting Starsky and Hutch - that car was my dream car for years! That must have been in the late 1970s - but close enough!

Don't worry, I think the eighties requirement for nostalgia on this thread has long gone.
Anyway, more picks from me that are from the eighties I think;
Max Headroom (too clever for me)
WKRP Cincinnati (Dr Johnny Fever & Venus Flytrap!)
Fry & Laurie (picked up the Monty Python ball and ran with it)
Spitting Image (I've still got a special on video taking the wees out of Ronald Reagan and the rest of the White House)
The Young Ones (came out of nowhere it seemed, meaningless, ridiculous and made bottom jokes on TV!)
The Tomorrow People and Blakes Seven (ahahahahaha, Dr Who doesn't look so low tech now does it?)
Monkey (from Japan, fantastic)
The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy (more high-tech British sci-fi with near stream-of consciousness comedy)

*batman walks into a 60's swinging club*
Doorman "would you like a table batman?"
Batman "No thank you, I'm trying to blend in"
Batman then proceeds to dance the swim etc
The sad thing is that it's real :|

Oi you left out Paddlefoot and Spinner,I think Clutch was over rated
Monkey (from Japan, fantastic)
We used to sit around and get hammered while monkey was on,made it seem so much more realistic, they did a two part mini series of it a while back

Don't feel too bad, I massacred whole families of them near St Andrews, cost me a bundle in ammo for my AK47 but it was worth it for the noise effect!!! :niceone:
Actually got a higher tally with my 308 I use for deer etc.
As mentioned by idb, The Young Ones was a top show, totally ludicrous (sp) but man, just about bust a gut laughing at it. (Never could figure out Mike though).

I had to do a bit of Google reshearch on Clutch...as little kid watching this new TV stuff it was exciting, they were only 5 min episodes once a week and always started with ''last time you remember Clutch....'' or some such thing.I thought the music was powerful and scary, but now find it's just bongos and a flute! The most weird thing about Clutch Cargo was there was no animation! The figures just moved across the scene without moving a limb, real smoke was blown across for a fire. But the most unusal thing was they used real human lips filmed speaking the words superimposed over the cartoon - I knew something was ''wrong'' with the show, but never knew what was so disturbing.
