I have this carb on my TTR250, its not standard and I think a bit overkill. As a rookie I want to get the bike "tame" and fit an original 30 or 33mm carb. I see this carb or Keihin in general is pricey. I am aiming for $300-$500 for a new or secondhand TTR250 (1996) carb. Mikuni ?
Any ideas or interest let me know. Should I keep the Keihin or sell it? Currently its got many flat spots but once the power comes through you have to hang on for dear life! Keep it and tune it or floggit?
Thanks for feedback.

You already have the best carb you can buy & somebody probably paid very good money for it. They are a bit finicky to tune, but produce great results.

Keep it and tune it, once it is sorted properly and the flat spots are gone the power delivery should feel much more linear

This tuning chart may be of some use to you. It enlarges with a left mouse click.

Smaller carbs have a stronger metering signal and produce better results off the bottom
lot of people foget this
Depends on where the throttle spends most of its time ,,,,and what response u want
Finally its 300 u may not have to spend ( see other comments )
