SET ASIDE A FEW HOURS ON OCTOBER 3RD 2010 AND COME AND JOIN US AT THE OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF MAG-NZ.
An invitation is extended to all bikers and supporters to be part of history in the making, with the launch of MAG-NZ. Motorcycle Action Group of New Zealand (MAG-NZ) has been established by bikers, for bikers and is dedicated to taking action on any front to preserve and protect bikers, and motorcycling in New Zealand.
In Auckland
Official Celebrations at Drury Performance Tyres . Start time 11am.
Four “Points of the Compass” rides will leave their starting points in Auckland to arrive for an 11am start at Drury Performance Tyres. Assemble at the following places at 10am, or make your way directly to the venue for 11am.
: North: Hooten Park Reserve, Oteha Valley Rd, Albany
: South: BP Papakura (Autobahn)
: East: Shell, Ti Rakau Drive, Pakuranga
: West: Shell Westgate
There will be a BBQ, (gold coin donation) and a coffee guy will also be available.
We are delighted to announce the attendance of a couple of very special guest stars who have given up their time to help us celebrate our launch.
Our first guest really needs no introduction;
Andrew Stroud, 8 times NZ Super Bike Champion will entertain us with a few stories.
Our second guest Patrick Malley, top NZ Rally driver, (www.patrick-malley.com) will also be in attendance, and has offered a “Rally Experience” as a spot prize on the day.
There may also be noise and smoke, certainly there will be live music, including a newly released MAG-NZ Anthem.
Spot prizes, including a free Track Day will be awarded for existing members (make sure you register at the venue to get in the draw) and for those who sign up on the day, so make sure you bring your $20 and come along and join in the fun.
After the formal part of the day we are heading to Pukekohe Racetrack, where AMCC are holding an Advanced Rider Training Track Day. Here we can see how this training works, and watch a few sessions on the track. Members will not be able to go onto the track on the day, but will be able to get up close and personal with the trainers and participants.

What a jolly good idea, seeing as getting out to these sort of things is on our collective agenda, we may as well start as we mean to go on. See you there

A few of us coming up from hams now.
If your not satisfied with the way things were handled over the ACC farce I suggest you might want to come join us tomorrow (Sunday) and see what you/we can do to provide a united front against the tyranny overtaking the motorcycling public!!!
Motorcycling is a way of life and an outlet to enjoy ones freedom and meet many new friends and find many new interests. Due to cost increases our freedom is being seriously derailed, next those who know best want everyone at home tucked in bed meeting people only on facebook and twitter.
The time to do something is now and the longer we keep the staus quo the worse it will get.
See you tommorrow!!

Many THANKS Virago, this is something that all MAG-NZ members and future supporters should be aware of.We have had help getting this Launch day off the ground.
In the first instance KB has assisted us imeasurably with front page coverage and by helping us reach all of Kb's many and varied motorcyclists.
Now we have other organisations assisting us and not just for the next five minutes.
So come one, come all, have a bit of fun, hear what we are going to be about and how YOU can help MAG-NZ to gow and become a force to be reckoned with.

well done mom & maha, great day at the launch,
however i think kb has changed some what, i must explain, kb used to be a great place to meet people on line as well as at events, i can now understand why new kbers say that they find it hard to meet more kbrs.
i went to shell west gate to meet up with kbrs to head to the mag launch, i aproched a group of people & asked if they were kbrs at all, yip was all i got,??:tugger:
no introductions at all, no attempt to even introduce them selves or any of the other group,:weird: so my question is, has kb realy changed or is it just a certain group of kbrs that like keep thems selves secret??

It's that way in all groups....people are wary, lack of confidence, who's this stranger, lack of trust, personal issues. In some it's just plain rudeness.
Whatever it is, it is rather off putting.

I know what you're saying and it's a common issue in Palmy. Fortunately, the Manawatu KB crew are bloody awesome and very friendly toward strangers.

They certainly are, even though Palmy was voted the most dull place to live in NZ!
Now, I was born in Palmy and lived there till I was 14 and being back there a few times over the last couple of years, I for one like the place, would I move back there to live? naaaaa, the locals couldn't handle that. But if you're a biker, the social scene is the best you could possibly find to be honest, in fact, you could say they are all psuedo Honda riders...

Quite simple. Dont wait for others to do it. To make friends you need to be friendly. Make the effort, get stuck in, be involved and organise rides etc. Those that matter are those that respond in kind. Those that don't... don't matter.

Some people (like me) are very shy and it can come across as rudeness.... I said hi to Mom and got a hug! I met Antonio as well but he knew who I was by my pink jacket. Otherwise I felt shy but that was my fault for not putting myself out there

Crazy Bloody Steve! yer a frigging Legend mate. You know us Souferners are tough. We rode back up the motorway and picked up a few more bikess and then headed back to the venue in time for the party. I didn't see you there, mores the pity.
Had a great day and enjoyed the company and the comments from all who did make themselves known and told us we were what they were weaiting for.
From here on in it's about all riders ewho want to be involved , becoming MAG-NZ members and asking what is required of them. ps. No one is saying you can't be members of other groups, just that to join MAG-NZ means we want your input and involvement in all of our rides/events.
So come on you lot, get to Taupo for Guy fawkes Nov 5th 6th and 7th 2010.
For MAG-NZ's next ride, next get together, next fund rainsing expedition for our chosen Charity, next full on exposure and chance for more of the people wanting to come along and join in, to do so.
