saddenning to see this wee fella passing at Indy, I recall watching a video about him on you tube a few years back about this kid who liked to drag his elbows through the turns. I think in the vid he was recovering from a crash and had his leg in pins etc. looked like a big talent and a really nice mature kid (for his age)
13 is far to young to die, I consider racing to be a rather adult sport however, not as in the kids can't do it, but more like the consequences when things go bad are more adult than other sports like soccer or rudgby. plz discuss.

My god, so young!! Kids normally bounce back pretty well!
Guess it reminds us that it can be pretty dangerous

Peter was one of the USA's rising stars and everyone over there talked about him and his bright future.
He had indeed only recently come back from a major injury.
On the USGPRU (US Grand Prix Riders Union) website some time ago there was some stern discussion about the merits either way of trying to get off track and staying put when in such a situation. I don't think there was any consensus, my own opinion is to stay put, but invariably it is each case on its merits and circumstance will dictate what might be best to do.
I can only imagine how his family, the other riders and the USGPRU people all feel, especially after the fatality in the Red Bull US Rookies Cup in 2008 in a similar situation.
Peters family are staunch christians so will take solice in their faith.
Give your kids a hug and kiss tonight ay?
RIP.

Thats awful, i've been following him for a wee while now.
I was quite shocked to find this out.
Just show's that our sport is incredibly dangerous even on small bikes.
RIP Peter.

tragic loss for his family and friends, and motorcycle racing in general. He was hugely rated and had a spectacular riding style. He must have been a mighty tough man to come back from his accident last year. He is the reason i now always wear a chest protector.
I don't think you could have stopped him racing, from all i have read and seen on him, he lived and breathed road racing from a super young age, and would have found a way to race.

Yes, Moto Academy NZ riders all wear chest protectors. We choose the Forcefeild product.
What a tough little bugger he was for a 13 yr old!
Can't imagine how Xavier is feeling. I hope he comes through OK.
