We finally have some kiwibiker onboard-video-art-antics moving around the country :)
Some kiwibiker riders are going to be in an exhibition called Accelerated Geographies (Alex Monteith) in New Plymouth, Taranaki & kiwibikers are all invited to the exhibition opening night on Sat 25th September at the Govett Brewster Art Gallery. This is an all welcome function with some alcoholic hospitality for anyone that rides and their families and friends. In fact it would be great to have a kiwibiker presence stamped into the opening. In Auckland when the work showed an anon rider came up with a few nice :Punk: burnouts ;)
They are rinding quick, making video artworks;
1. Shaun Harris riding Taupo - onboard bulletcams front and rear
2. Paul Duncan, Allan Ure, Logan Gowes & Shane Eriwata all riding simultaneously in the fast group following eachother with on-board cams (front).
Other work in the exhibition is made with Eriquoy choppers, C4 Airtrainers and surfers, so the riding is in good company with other fast machines :shifty:

A little bit of feedback for you, an artist friend of mine called Raven went and saw your exhibition in Auckland with MDU and jrandom riding the motorway, she LOVED it. Said not what she was expecting and truely a fantasic bit of art.
Well done you :D

Fast compared to the other stuff around, like the grass and the buildings.
That looks like cowpoos in the forth shot. He is proper fast.
I heard some discussion on the radio about you Alex. I hope it all goes well for you!

In fact there's likely heaps more Kiwibikers in this artwork because the footage onboard cam (front facing simultaneous) covers the entire session for the 4-biker work (after lunch) with kiwi in, and Shaun Harris did most of the fast session pretty much the whole fast session before lunch.
The dates of the recordings were Taupo MotoTT track day 29 Feb 2008.
In the four channel / four bike recording the fast group was pretty huge - lots of riders:shifty:

This is to warmly invite all you Taranaki riders and speed-heads to an art-video exhibition called Accelerated Geographies, 6pm ish Sat evening (THIS SAT) showing some rad kiwibikers in action in a huge speed-art exhibition - your very own Shaun Harris & also Kiwifruit, Enigma, & co in action at Taupo.
You`re all invited to come down for a drink and celebrate Shaun, and track-day riding generally & the show won`t be the same without some hard-core local riding antics in the town centre / gallery :devil2:
It`ll be a great night of speed-art, with riders making work (Shaun and co) but also there`s projects done with the RNZAF choppers, and a giant artwork amde with 5 of the RNZAF Red Checkers, so anyone into speed-toys in action will likely be into this - so our kiwiriders are in great FAST company. And... LOUD.
Let me know on this thread if you`re keen to come by bike and I`ll sort some cones and allocated parking for bikes outside the gallery, so your bikes can be on display as well :niceone: as we all know how spunky they are. If you have special bikes, or collectors bikes, bring them out as there will likely be some media there who may show an unhealthy interest in you prized rides:first:
We want to see as many enthusiastic riders from Taranaki turn out on bikes or in any form, but arriving and parking up your bikes at the gallery will be a most welcome addition to the scene.

I know the weather is waaaaaaaaaaay out there! apparently there`s only been 1 fine day all month.
We`re actually also looking to see if anyone who might make it would mind displaying a there bikes inside the gallery (during the opening drinks part) to add a bit of drama to the entry - be wicked if you or anyone about would mind parking INSIDE the gallery with a couple of sexy quicker bikes :devil2:
soo hope its fine...

This is an impressive show.
Got to meet our hostess, a very busy girl on the opening night.
Not many chances you get to drink up free on the Council. (If you disregard the thousands of dollars in rates bills you've paid.) Shame I had to pass up the opportunity...
Got to see some people I hadn't seen in a while.
The surfing video is huge. At one point I was wondering if there was scope for a psychologist to study the shoaling habits of surfers?
I might have to go back one day when it's less crowded and check I didn't miss anything. Also I wouldn't have to worry about moving my head while watching the bike art if there weren't any non-bikers around
Thanks Alex

Great to meet you the other night - I was trying to get downstairs to the bikes all night, but got a bit stuck upstairs with everything going on - the best thing about the gallery as they allowed the sound to remain LOUD!
