Not at all surprising to me.

I had a young headphoned student walk into my car as I was passing. I ran over her foot with my back wheel and she hit the deck. Took my antenna with her. This was back in 1995.

I was gonna say, Walkmans etc are hardly new. If people have the music up that loud then it's their own fault.

it seems the youff of today are incapable of functioning without an ipod blasting in their ears.

put them in a empty silent room and they would probably poo their pants due to the silence, and being left alone with nothing but their thoughts.

The music is the only thing that keeps the voices in my head away!

You just have to love Apple's marketing team eh. Like Sony with the 'Walkman' in the 80's and 90's where every portable player was called such, today every mp3 player is referred to as an iPod.

And moi? I likes ALL the voices, well, except for the ones that make me do bad things.

No doubt about it, I've lost count of the times somebody with earphones in & head down txting has stepped into the road without looking. Pricks always give me a dirty look too, as if it's my fault they have abandoned spatial awareness.
Dunno about everybody else but not being able to hear what is going on around me is very disconcerting.
