So I'm in Brazil at the moment. It's not the first time I've been here but it's the first time I've been here as a a biker.

Here are my observations.

1. It's too hot to wear the proper gear. For the commuters and other common day-riders it's way too much to wear any sort of gear and the fact that proper leathers cost more than the biker rules this option out for most.

2. They're just as crazy as the rest of the AKL commuters. Yeah, we're maluco.

3. The most common brand is Honda by a 99:1 ratio.

4. The most common model is the Honda Titan 150cc , the second most popular is the cbx250 ( a single cylinder 250cc machine). Both have drum rear brakes, single front discs, and carbs.

Here are the best bikes I've seen in two weeks of being here
1. 1 x CBR1000RR - parked. A rich relative
2. 1 x RF9000 - fully leathered dude at night (of course)
3. 1 x Burgman 650. Yeah, that's right
4. 500 x cbx250
5. 20,000 titan 150cc. ridden by everyone. especially by girls with great asses (all Brazilian girls).

A new Hayabusa is about NZ$50,000 and when you make that relative to the local average wage it turns out to be around NZ$100,000 which explains why I've not seen anything really cool on the roads.

We, are, cool.

Now that I think about it, I don't know of any MotoGP Brazilian riders, or WSBK for that matter. Beach volleyballs must be cheap though.

So the 3rd most powerful motorcycle you have seen in 2 weeks is a scooter? What would a Burgman 650 cost there, because they are pretty pricey here?
