New Zealand Spinal Trust is our Chosen Charity.
Everyone is welcome to come an have a cracking weekend in Taupo.
Taupo is central to all parts of the North Island, 3-4 hours at worst.
The All Seasons Motorcamp is a brilliant place to have as a base for the weekend.
Have a look at the website, there will be suitable accomodation for everyone. Inside/outside/tents whatever suits.

bad eh.
Yes, naughty indeedy. They have a lodge bunkroom there though if you dont want to tent it. There is also a hot pool to soak in :sunny: if you do select the tent option.
There is a bit of discussion around regarding discounts for MAG-NZ members...
Yet to be confirmed at this stage though, it may be they make a donation to our charity instead. Whichever, they are really looking forward to hosting us for the weekend.

Are they that naive, happy to host bikers, well until we leave lol.
The idea of discount is good, but I'd be happy to pay normal costs and they give the discount normally to us to the cause if that makes sense.
Just emailed for costs to stay.Tell Mark to bring a knee kicker down, small job to be done in Napier, been a while since I played with a naplock and hammer.:Punk:

Yep cheap accomodation for sure,we have a spare room if needed, only need linen which can be hired for $5.00 pn per person, happy to charge only $60 night with free steak knives.Nah more like $30-35 night per person.
Actually gooood park price wise in a tourist area, basic room under $65night for 2,and can sleep 5 with double in 1 room and bunks and bed in other, own linen etc required.Compared to Arrowtown campground which was 2 bunks and $30 per person,no tea making facilities.
Do they have a huge fridge????

Not long to go now till Taupo, woo hoo...
Just to clarify, this is a fundraising event and a chance to hook up with old friends and the nice and cuddly MAG-NZ people.
We are there to raise monet for the New Zealand Spinal Trust and it;s a great chance to show off the bikes, do a bit of good work and have a good old fashioned roar up down by the lake.
Everyone is welcome and I promise to remain fully clothed
Hope to see you there people

Thats not what you said last time I saw you
Seriously though, this is going to be a great weekend of fun and frivolity, as FM says we also get to raise some money for the NZ Spinal Trust at the same time.
The accommodation options should suit every pocket, and the camp is lovely. It has its own hot water swimming/laying around place. I am really looking forward to it. I have 2 of my 3 kids coming along as well, this is a family time as well, a chance for your partners/familes and children to share in the fun as well.

Bummer, but better planning could have had your 6yos birthday in Taupo :dodge:
No, seriously, family first at all times. 6 year olds are really cute, my baby is 13 years older, now birthdays are unimportant, in fact I could actually ruin her birthday celebrations by simply turning up :devil2: it is close to that weekend, in fact I believe the reason she is not attending the MAG event is because she wants to partay away from her Mommy :violin:

But I have a small lodge booked. The one with a double bed in as one pictured on the site with the single bed above. Only $37 a night for one person or $52 for two plus 5 bucks a night for bedding.
I figured it wasn't worth bringing the tent, sleeping bag and airbed on the bike for that price as camp sites are $25 anyway.
Anyone want it as I'm going to cancel in a few hours.

I'm sure they will be coming mate, it really was a blast. We had a great time, we meet lots of new friends and we raised some significant money for our Main Charity.
Could not have asked for better company, weather or anything else.
Anotnio, Anna, please, please don;t ever get mixed up with any other motorcycle group, your'e OUR 's for keeps after this weekend.
Food was fantastic and your company was awesome.
For those that didn't ride , Up Down, or sideways, you missed MAG-NZ's first annual get together, this was not a protest ride, but simply a social gathering and an opportunity to get to meet Trevor from the Spinal Trust, who was our contact for the trust.
Trev and his daughter quickly became part of our group and ably assisted us in collecting for the Trust on the streets of Taupo. It doens't get any better than being able to help others and to have a good time doing so and meeting new mates.
The camp ground where most of us stayed, was excellent.
It is quite capable of taking many more of us.
Next year.
It's called.

We are home safe and sound, took much longer than anticipated as the CHCH contingent missed the check in for her flight and had to be rebooked on a later flight. We only found out when we had arrived at the airport, cant read texts while riding a bike eh? So we had a 3 hour wait...
Decided to go home and come back again, so we drove to Warkworth, unloaded the car etc and then turned around and went back to the airport :D
What a fabulous weekend it was, so much fun with great company and we raised a heap of cash for the NZ Spinal Trust as well! There are a heap of pics on our camera, we will look at getting them down loaded soon.
Thanks team, great time had by all

Was a blast, great to meet and greet.
Came back via Napier, stopped at Tiko pub, great wedges, and food for sure.
Bloody spped camera just before Bayview on hills, and downhill to boot but to bad,was doing 110-115km,got a bit worried on fuel load getting closer to Napier, ended up filling and had 1.7ltr when icon was flashing to indicate 1.5ltr approx (typical if really desperate it would be really accurate the gauge),chilly ride for much of it,but no rain, considering weather on Friday that was a bonus.
1)Grazing Saturday,2)Antonios sweet ride and mine,3)bikes at rest,4)more at rest for lunch,5)Max and admirer(groper),6)more of the bikes at lunch.

Well that was best fun you could have while standing.
An absolute brilliant weekend which started on Friday at 9am and finished Sunday at 9pm.
Taupo really turned it on weather wise, I understand it got bit chiily down Ohakuni way for Nutbar saturday arvo' while the rest of us drank piss:drinkup: The camp ground was massive, free showers, free B-B-Q, the entertainment was cheap also :innocent: Cabins were perfect, and I have got my room all sorted for next year (dont worry Antonio, you wont even know I am there :shifty:) Fatt Max can level a man at 40 paces with his wit :killingme
I cant thank anyone who was there enough, my weekend was one out of the box from start to finish, so many moments keep flashing into my head and the weekend starts all over again:yes:
Alot of pics were taken, 91 in total from us...
We will get them up soon.
