I picked up a set of second hand ohlins cartridges 8 months ago, finally got around to sending them to the Robert Taylor @ CKT. And told him to work his magic and do what he could. I was more than suprised what magic he did work.

These started as standard FGK 116 20mm cartridges, they are now FGK116 cartridges which have been fully upspec to the NIX25 standard

So what does that mean, well now one fork does compression, and the other fork does rebound, instead of both forks doing both jobs, Each fork only has one job to do. These have also been upgraded to 25mm from 20mm valves also. 0.9 springs where installed with this setup.

To adjust this setup is all done from the top of the forks with an allen key,the adjuster down by the brakes is now no longer used.

My previous setup, was traxxion 0.95 springs with spacers. This was okay when i originally did it, but after riding the wifes Aprilia RSVR1000 with ohlins R&T forks, My were found wanting.

I decided to go down ohlins route since i already have ohlins rear shock, and ohlins steering damper, so all suspension componts match

I rode the bike down to Robert to install these, and could visit there nice clean shiny shop, with lots of bling bits, so he could give the whole bike a check over to make sure it was all good.

After i installed them set the sag but it was spot on straight out of the box. I then took it for a quick spin down the road, made a huge improvement to the bike, the settings where a bit hard side for general riding, but be fine for track/spirited riding. So soften it up a touch for the ride home.

Over all up it cost me about 2/3 of cost of new ohlins cartridges but, you can't get them new for my bike any more. So if i wanted something i would have to get latest model and then get them changed to suit my bike

So a big thanks to Robert, he put up with me stuffing around for ages trying to decide what i was going to do the front of my bike, and him and his teams great work on my forks.

Thanks Neal for the write up and glad you are happy with them. One small clarication in case any readers are confused, the Ohlins cartridges are 25mm piston size before and after conversion ( latest offerings are now 30mm ) Oem cartridges in these forks are 20mm.
