gsxr400 86 front rim change?

Hi all,
I have an 86 gsxr400 race bike with the same rims as a gsx400 impulse among others.
The thing is that i need to get to a 3 inch rim on the front from a 2.5 inch so i can get a race wet on the front.
The rear is no prob as i got a 4 inch bandit rim on the rear.
Has anyone done this before or know if any of the likes of gsx600-750f rims would fit and if the discs are the same size,distance apart?.
the other question is the difference between fixed and floating discs - if i get a rim to fit does it matter if it has floating discs with my original calipers that are on a fixed disc at the moment?.

Dunno if it's been done before but if you go through with it and wanna get rid of your existing front wheel gimme a shout.

If you use the same wets that a RS125 runs the 2.5 would be fine

If i could id be rapt but what size/ brands do they run and is there a wet for a 4 inch rear?.
I do still have the 3 inch rear if i need it.

Not sure off the top of my head but they normally run a 2.5 x 17 front and 3.5 x 17 rear rim sizes, the earlier RS125 used a 3 inch rear with a 115 or 120 wide rear, I think the fronts are either 90 or 95 wide, not sure on the profiles

If you are able to run them then you can pick up cheap slicks off the 125 guys and maybe even the wets as well

I am not sure what the F3 guys run but I would think it would be a bit wider

I'da thought the easiest front wheel to fit would be the RGV250 wheel

Had considered that but its weather i can get it into my forks and match up break discs and pad type.

Kickaha might be onto it as the 125 guys run a 95 on a 2.5 inch front and i have two options for the rear but would like to put a 3 inch on front if i couls as it would give more options.
