What can I say...

WOW

That was a fantastic race. Four Italians, top four places. Hard out racing from start to finish.

Rossi's the man, but was good to see Biaggi and Caparossi showing their form of old. Milandri's definitely the top of the youngin's, and a future world champ.

Now that it's over I just want to watch it all over again.

Definitely a race that is going into my top of all time list.

ok those that watched it closely in the head shot from the dash of capirossiś bike what was the tube resting against the screen/blade, had what looked like water in it and was bubbling away in some of the shots

and yes a bloody great race, Max being sneaky when he half opened the door for rossi at one point only to slam it shut on him and force him to sit up and back off, very sneaky

Melandri's Brolly Dolly was better than the racing. I love the Italian grid.

Two seperate races - 1st & 2nd,3rd & 4th ,and they all had a turn at the front. One of the best races I've seen from Max,he was in top form and only used one dirty trick,he must be a changed man. That move from Melandri was over the top! I don't know how he stayed on,and I think the others just let him go thinking he'd never keep it together! I was pretty sure Vale would do it,but the others were so good he had to pull that little bit more out....as usual.

Sete who?????

Gotta agree. The Italian crumpet is still the best in the world. Mmmmm

Anyone stay up for the 250 and 125 races. Brilliant stuff.

*POST CONTAINS SPOILERS CONCERNING MINOR RACES*

The last corner on the 125 race was a shocker. Hope both young guys are ok, certainly looked vicious. Can't remember the last time I saw a rider and bike taking out by another rider flying into them (without a bike). The tumbles looked messy. Add to the guy who also had a nasty tumble in the gravel and it was a busy start to the day for the ambo's.

Anyone*cough*going to*cough*pm me the*cough**cough*you-know-whats.

I watched the 125's live and was quite shocked when they came off at the last corner. The KTM rider actually hit the Honda and he (Honda rider) took quite a tumble. I heard the commentators say during the presentation ceremony that they were both o.k, which was a relief.
I had to go out after that and missed the 250 & GP race, so I hope to catch the replays.

Brilliant race, Rossi always seems to have that little bit extra.I'm sure he just plays with the rest of the field so he doesn't get bored.
Scary crash in the 125's But my daughters happy cos Thomas Luthi had another good finish (the next Valentino she reckons)

Yeah that 125 crash was nasty. Kallio was leading coming into the last corner on the last lap and got highsided and then collected by hector faubel, who then went for a big tumble. Both are gonna be bruised from head to toe and very very sore.

I reckon the 250 race was the best one of the lot, gp was quite good but max was never going to beat rossi.

Normally I'm against Gibernau...think he's an arrogant wanker, forever making excuses for not beeating Val-e...

Gotta give him a bit more respect after reading these comments though...

“I’m not going to start looking for excuses – we’ve done a bad job here, myself more than anybody, and that’s it. I can’t explain why we can do such a good job all weekend and then not come out with the result in the race, because we are capable of being competitive.”

“I can’t deny that the championship is slipping away from me already but I’m not going to throw the towel in. I just want to win as many races as possible and not think any further than that. I’d like Catalunya to be a turning point.”

For once he's not being a total bitch about it, and seems to actually be looking to solve his problems, rather than blame someone else for them.

Still wanna see Rossi win the championship...

I can't wait to see the damn race...link anyone?

Rossi was just playing with the others. As soon as Gibernau was out his lap times dropped and you cpild tell he wasn't really worried about Max.

Racing doesn't get any better than that! Though I am a Rossi fan and I admire him, this time I really wanted to see ol Max win it but oh well, Rossi isn't the best for no reason.

That was probably one of the best races I have ever watched! :Punk:

Nooooooooooo

Wanna jump on a local dc hub?

What I also want to know is why you can't buy the complete season 125/250/MotoGP/extras,interviews all in one collection. DVD quality instead of the wmv/rm. I'd happily pay 100-150 for a season box set (but would be willing to stretch to 200-250 dependant on how many disks and extras were included).
But instead all they seem to offer is Highlights dvd. I don't want what someother fool thought were the important parts of the season, I want to be able to relive the whole season at will.

$250 bucks? Whynot just subscribe to the MotoGP site, then? about $55 bucks NZ?

Don't fret big cat, I wasn't accusing you of being harsh on Sete or anything...just using that mention of him to bring out my own thoughts...I'm hoping that this start to the season will endow him with some humility for the future as well, and he won't go back to being the brat he was before.

If you sign up to that, can you download the file to your computer to watch in one go?

I've got Woosh, but it's a bit shite really, only gets about 35kbps on a good day, and I doubt that it could stream the whole thing without any hiccups.

$250 bucks? Whynot just subscribe to the MotoGP site, then? about $55 bucks NZ?

Two reasons. One, I don't have a credit card so intl purchases aren't possible. Two, I don't believe the quality of the wmv/rm files is worth money. You'll see I specifically mention quality being worth money. I think they'll find I'm not the only one either. Yet another organisation trying to hold on to an outdated ineffectual business model. The fact is they shouldn't be charging on the site at all. People would still watch it when it's on tv, and would still buy the dvd's (if the fuckers were available).

All said and done I see there is a just over 600MB file available around at the moment of last nights race (must be all three as one). So I'll grab that if necessary. Just means taking a hit on my intl cap and it'll take a bit longer.

I thought it was a great race too :)
It always amazes me how hard they push the bikes, some of the shots in that even I could see them sliding around a bit (like from the helicopter camera, when they're leaned right over). Unbelievable...

It's though the emule (I'm using aMule as I run linux). The file is called "[MotoGP - 2005] Gran Premio Del Mugello 5.6.2005.avi" and is 600.63MB. Tis going to take me forever to get though :(. Even though I'm on cable (stupid data caps), it's only 0.2% done since I started it last night, and I can only use emule for a week each month before it kills my cap.

Any of you geeks have a large pipe at home/work and want to grab it and throw it on a local dc hub.

Still not as convenient(sp?) as the old system. Where I would have already rewatched the race at least twice by now. :(

Breather tube, but I dunno if it was for coolant or gas tank.

Yeah, I did.
I'm too old and cranky to stay up to watch it live. Gotta fix up the aerial connections to the VCR though, because the picture wasn't very good. Nah, buggrit - I'm gonna buy a DVD recorder/HDD thingo.
