Taz had bought a Yammy SR250 on his sisters behalf and was riding it down to Motueka so I tagged along for (part) of the ride.

Pretty much a straight run down the centre of the island although had to deviate onto gravel for a flooded road around Churchill.

Fully kitted up in wet weather gear inc one piece rain suit and Rain-off (http://www.rain-off.com/) gloves (highly reccommended, look em up)

Steady 80-100k down to Nat Park for lunch. From here Andy carried on and I turned for Kawhia.

Still raining steadily, back in all the kit and off.

I was planning to cut across the Forogotten Highway to Awakino but it was so slippery i cut up thru Ohura and on to the gravel to Aria - Piopio.

A lot of slips around, up Waipuna Rd to Te Anga and Kawhia.

1. Ohura Aria
2. Ohura Arai
3. Piopio
4. Piopio
5. bach (fri morn getting ready to wake up the Tiger :))
6. Rag Rd, Woo Hoo

Hadn't put the rain suit/rainoffs on as only 200k to home and didn't look too bad.

Always a nice bit of road the Kawhia Raglan Road had a lot of slips on it today (worse to come i'd say!) and diggers had been hard at work cleaning up. Few sloppy streachs to traverse.

Only half an hour in and the rain came again so at turnoff to Raglan decided to head home via Whatawhata, however I couldn't go past 22, how slippery could it be........

Well it was pretty bad but was still tempted to head to the coast via gravel a couple times but come to a turnoff and thought better of it. Steady rain and the wind was getting up.

1. Raglan Rd clean up crew
2.3.4. Glenmurry (bout here I decided to stick to quick route home!)
5.6 Slippery SH22 (sun did come out briefly)

Didn't look so good in the distance but wasn't so bad and the roads even started to dry a little.

1.2. Good - not so good
3. Told you the wind was strong, sheared these large trees off at the base......... :shifty:
4.5.6. On the way down I met Andy at the Tuakau rest stop and the river was high, buy the looks it got over the road, worse to come in the next day or two.

Good ride that and the Tiger did a stellar job again.

Thanks Guys. She took to it like a duck to water. Got all the basics sorted in the first half hour and is well on her way.
