Did not go out today with the intention of bying a new bike, but anyway I called into Amps this afternoon for a general brouse as I tend to do, then a brand new Buell XB12SS caught my eye so I went over to have a look. then I looked at the price tag it said $13,600 Mmmmm I thought these were like a $20,000 bike this time last year so after much should I or Should'nt I deliberation I took the plunge. So now my Speed Triple will have a companion in the shed.

I've oftened wondered why one would wish to own more than one bike. You can only ride one at a time...is this a bit like the Sheiks and their harems?

Bawahahahahahahahahaha
Love it - just a walk around the bike shop and ride out!
I'd vote for you :woohoo:

Who wouldn't want to be a Sheik with a harem? :woohoo: Same for a bike - choose the ride to match the mood.

The 09-10 models have twin O2 sensors don't they.
If so they have quite a bit of built in learning ability.Unlike my ole X1.
Not a 100% sure but could possibly get away with the self learnt tune(a workmate was told that by AMPS,he bought new 09 a few months ago).
Don't think ECM spy is working/updated for 09-10's.
You could also talk to John at TripleZ reguarding tuning,if needed.
As to exhausts?,What are you after?.Noise?.Power?looks?..the sound is a very personal choice.
Theres nearly as many threads out there for exhausts as there are oil..
Check out Utube for Buell sound clips..
Lots of good reading found here.

To own two is to know why. Depends on your mood. I respect the S3, but if I feel like thrashing the nuts off something (like this arvo), I take the SV.
PS: Congratulations on the bike. That's a nice machine and a shitload too at a bargain price.

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/discus.cgi?pg=topicsCheers for that linky so it seems that out of the multitude of aftermarket cans available only the XB900 benefits in a big way.as for the XB12 only the Buell Race or the Micron offer power and Torque improvments.

I noticed that WMC had some Buells for sale - one very sexy red one (probably the XB12SS) and a Ulysses which caught my attention - about $14k with luggage included - I wonder about the future support for these bikes, WMC said there ought to be no problems

Sorry Genie have been riding the Buell all weekend, so I will give Buell and Triumph a bit of a tub up tomorow and take some Photos. Got to say though I love my Buell its not the most powerfull bike on the street but its just so much fun to ride I will have to get a new zorst or get the stock can opened up cos it deffinatly needs to make more noise.

I have an 07XB12R that I bought new from amps ( paid heaps more than 13K ). did a K&N filter at 500 km and the factory race pipe and computer at 1500 km. I got the race pipe second hand back then as the new ones had gone.
If I had stayed living in the city I probably would have switched back to stock, made it lumpy round town, uncouth and agro.
they are not a horsepower bike but they are fast in there own way.
there are a few folks around who can modify the stock pipe, not a bad option.
the after market computers are a bit better to tune but cost more for the initial setup.
PM me if you want I can tell you all I learnt about it in 07.

Well off topic, but do you think you could add 'boycott Mobil' to your sig? Or is it only cool to follow the latest boycotting fads? Exxon Valdez '89 disaster;http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exxon_Valdez_oil_spill
BP are'nt the only naughty ones.....this is not a personal attack I just think what Mobil did to that community was worse and it seems the world has forgotten, and I find it hypocritical when people use Mobil yet preach boycott BP.
Again sorry guys I know this is wildly off-topic here!

Sure, no problem. The thing is that the BP spill directly affected family members of mine, whereas the Mobil spill didn't. The sig is for things I want to say.
I'm here now, and I have to say there now doesn't appear to be much of a problem aftermath wise. I'll check out a few more things and if all is to my satisfaction I may just alter my sig.
BP are working overtime on their PR here....

I'll drag it further off topic and mention the fact that Shell kills Nigerians:
http://www.thirdworldtraveler.com/Boycotts/Flames_Shell.html
http://priceofoil.org/2010/11/10/shells-nigerian-pr-strategy-exposed/
- no doubt that fact alone will make Shell the servo of choice among the KB majority
