MC19 fuel filter

I'm after a fuel filter for my CBR250 in Christchurch, but Honda want to charge me around $80 for a new one and I'm not prepared to fork out that much for a small piece of plastic. Does anyone know where I should go to find a fuel filter for my bike?

Post a pic. I just brought a generic 5/16" in and out filter from Repco for the RGV. Only thing unusual about it was the outlet is at 90 degrees, but that was no problem.

The internal diameter of the hoses that connect to the filter are 8mm.
It looks like a fairly generic filter with straight connectors on each end.

just buy a inline fuel filter from super churp or ripco for
like $5

if you need lil bits and bobs like bulbs fuses filters levers grips that are generic to all bikes then the cheapest place is usually Budget Motorcycle Spares down by lancaster park, though dont ask them to think about anything as they just shake their heads and give you a blank look.
Yesterday the main guy in there who is meant to be all knowledgable told me that it was categorically impossible to pain a motorbike helmet without destroying it.... so yeah nothing that requires brain action , but they are good till jockeys and very friendly, though sometimes you have to be prepared to stand around for 20 minutes while they potter about with their own business :)

I have dealt with them on several occasions and I fully agree with everything you have just said. I wasn't sure if it was just me who felt that way.

I ended up paying $31 for a Redline fuel filter from Supercheap, but it's made from metal and glass unlike the factory plastic filter. This filter also has a removable filter inside it so I can just buy a refill cartridge next time instead of buying a whole new filter housing.
