Some don't seem to realise that if a notice has the circled X icon, you can remove the notice by clicking on it.

X not visible on 'The Green Zone' forum skin, not sure about others. But now you have mentioned it I was able to hunt it down and find it. I was wondering when that notice was going to disappear :)

Its just barely visible. I've put a white box around it until I can deal with the image color from home.

Then I read the thread...

75% of you still haven't figured out how to dismiss the notices. Or maybe they just like it. Well it's gonna get a bit crowded when I add another reminder tomorrow.

I think the next Notice will have to be one that tells people how to get rid of the notices

I lived with the inablity to dismiss the notice, until you put a "box" around in in the Green Zone; then I killed it, there is no singlet option :D

Some members were starting to lose the site due to the number of notices stalked ones of top of the other.

Were you aware that you were able to delete the post by clicking an x?
Did you delete the post?
If you did, then you are a clever Member.

I just assumed ya would remove the notices yaself, like ya do with the ads when they have been up long enough, instead of expecting us to do it individually. Instead ya are now having to put up notices to tell us to delete the notices:facepalm:

Doesn't work like that. If I remove it, how do I know everyone has read it. A notice stays up permanently and each user removes it after they've read it.

Then ya need to clearly state that in ya notice ( something like "This is a site notice. Please Delete Once You Have Read This Notice"), otherwise we will just ignore it as just more Ads.

That would be too easy :D, plus I did put big red text telling people how to remove and they still didn't do it. I should have said nothing and just kept adding notices and waited to see how long to would take before some people started complaining they couldn't see the site any more :)

I don't know if this is worth the time and effort, but a more effective notice process is to display a 'notice page' on first logon after a notice is published.
The notice page has an 'Accept' button that lets you into KB and stops that notice from displaying again.
