I hyper extended/twisted my knee last Sunday at the WMC ride. Does anyone have any advice about knee braces and their value in protecting an already wonky knee from any more damage?

Yes they will definitely help support your knees. Gives you more confidence on the bike as well, much much cheaper than stuffing your knee up...

Here are some that i have for sale...

I have bung knees and had some Asterisk Braces which thought were pretty good, thought i'd try some Pod K700's so bought some and flicked off the Asterisk.
After a few rides i came to the conclusion that although the Pods were alot less bulky for me the Asterisk's were alot more supportive so believe it or not i sold the Pods and bought some more Asterisk's,expensive exercise i know but i'm glad i went back to them........

I wouldn't even consider riding my bike without knee braces now.
Do it. They will pay for themselves very quickly.

Frick dude you cant ride without kneebraces. Either Asterisk or POD's will do the trick.

Or if you've got the coin get some CTi's

I highly recommend little.whitties ones on trademe.. If they fit get them for sure.

did the same at desert storm. I now have pods and have nothing but good things to say about them, they even saved my knee when i got my foot caught on a stump. it actually pulled me off the bike and I didn't even feel it.

Now if they can make that for the rest of the body i should be fine.

Hi all,

thanks for all the good advice. Yes I should be wearing a decent knee brace and guess I now need to work out what is best value for money.

I think Mr Whittles offering is probably too small...

Mine are carbon composit, fit me very well. there would be no way i would have paid $3500 for them. there must be something else about them surely?

CTi Customs go for $1850 from Darryll King.

They're basically the best protection you can get. Lucky I got mine from ACC as well!
