Can't seem to find any info on tire rules for 600 in terms of how many per round qualifying/races? Anyone got a confirmed answer?
Thought I'd try on here before I start making phone calls
Thanks

Shaun said on KR that it was 1 set per round (for Stock Prod class)...I haven't actually seen the rule though.

limited amounts of tyres(?) it's not in the rules (as promulgated). Can anyone confirm this? It would certainly bring the cost down.

Does it work like this - use whatever tyres you please for un-official practice (friday) and practice and first qualifyer. Then whatever set of tyres you finish final qualifyer on are marked and you must use these for rest of your races that round/weekend.
Correct me if i am wrong please.:innocent:

I have just been throught hte rules for supersport and superstock600/1000 and the tyre rule doesn't say anything about numbers or quantities. The pro twin rule does.

b) Be manufactured for road use in all weather conditions
c) Be not less than the machine manufacturer’s recommended
speed and load rating
d) Be worn no more than to the minimum tread depth indicators
e) Not be manufactured for only competition use
f) Not have an augmented or modified tread pattern
g) The use of tyre warmers is permitted
3.2 When a race or practice has been declared “wet”, the use of a
wet tyre is allowed.
Superstock 6003.2 Tyres:

I just got message from Road race commissioner and he said same allocation as last season. So if someone knows allocation for last season for 600 Superstock then guess its that?

It might have an influence on tyres: wasn't there talk of changing the race format to make it a bit more spectator friendly? Like having 3 shorter races rather than 2 long ones for 1000/600 type thing?
I wrote to the road race commission but didn't hear anything. They still hadn't ratified the rules at that stage so may have been otherwise engaged.
Given that most folks had to have their tyres ordered ages ago it could make things interesting if they do change the format.

The way the rules read you cannot use wets UNTIL the race / practice is declared wet. Last Nats a rider was warned and nearly lost his points for being out in a race on wets WITHOUT the required "wet declaration" It makes it tough when no time frame is given for this declaration wet / not wet immediately prior to race

I think you will find that going out on wets irrespective of the weather is just a mainland thing, cos you know if its not raining right there & then then its about to............ :-)
Not one to brag after Round 5 of Vic though aye !

30 minutes from memory to allow riders time to change.

Rules can be changed based on a SAFETY issue only! and you are correct re the wording, it is bollocks to have to weight for some one to say, O, it;s wet, so this IS a safety issue.
Follow this rule up with Paul Stewart and ask him who can re word this officualy, and let us know the out come.

1 set per round for the races
And "1 set" still means 1 front and 2 rears like it did before?

My replies have been based on the Production 600 rules of last year, NOT the Supersport rules.
Ask the racing commitee by email, dont trust the internet mate
